Position Summary:
Cambay Healthcare is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Protection Consultant to join our dynamic Operations team. The Data Protection Consultant will play a critical role in safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data privacy laws, risk assessment methodologies, and best practices for data protection.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations, such as HIPAA and GDPR.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to data security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess data protection needs and develop appropriate solutions.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members on data protection protocols and best practices.
- Monitor and respond to data security incidents, including data breaches and unauthorized access attempts.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in data protection laws and regulations.
- Liaise with external partners, such as legal counsel and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of data protection activities, including risk assessments, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in internal and external audits of data protection practices and procedures.
Experience & Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in data protection, information security, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and data security audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional certifications in data protection or information security, such as CISSP, CIPP, or CISM, are preferred.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
