Cakesmiths - Manager - Operations

Cakesmiths is a product of quality and creativity for all the baking enthusiasts out there. We are a vibrant new startup forging a path in the Pastry Industry in India. Cakesmiths seeks to sensitize the enthusiastic, small-scale professional and even amateur Indian bakers to the artfulness of the craft. Cakesmiths will set the standard in quality for baking tools, ingredients, learning and teaching.

We offer three key services :

- A web marketplace that curates high quality baking supplies

- A studio kitchen that is a state of the art space for chefs to show off their skills and mentor amateur bakers.

- Virtual learning, online video classes for individuals who subscribe to our virtual school

Description :

- Assist upper management with day to day operations of the studio and online platform

- Streamline operations

- Studio maintenance, scheduling and upkeep

- Maintain records of classes conducted and visiting chefs

- Ensure visiting chef's needs are fulfilled

- Maintain quality assurance standards

- Research new technologies and methods of efficiency

- Maintain business contact database of potential clients and business partners.

- Respond to business mail

- Independent contractor logistics, serve as liason (e.g scheduling, contract administration etc)

- Vendor Management, manage existing and create new relationships with vendors and suppliers.

- Negotiating contracts and managing budgets.

- Process documentation, develop and maintain an operations manual that defines essential business processes, policies and best practices/lessons learned.

- Gauge, report and upkeep of employee morale

- Maintain and better logistics processes

- Oversee inventory dispatch, stock control, daily and weekly MIS reporting.

Requirements :

- B.A or graduate degree is required

- Proficiency with business applications (Microsoft office/Google Apps)

- Experience in retail/event/restaurant management

- Experience with ecommerce businesses

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- High emotional intelligence

- Can work effectively with staff and clients in diverse situations
