Position: Deputy General Manager / General Manager - Finance & Accounts

Role Description: The person will be responsible for leading and managing the accounting and finance function of the company. The person will have primarily strategic along with day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include overall and direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, costing, legal, negotiations, compliance and financing.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, short term and long term borrowings, fund management, investments, project financing, development of strategic business models, identifying risks and deficiencies.

- Forecast short term and long term financial needs of the company based on business plan and projects on hand, identify sources and mobilize funds at a low cost.

- Validate financial aspects of all transactions including commercial terms, revenue contracts, costs, contracts, etc

- Compliance of Direct Tax, Indirect Tax and Company Law requirements

- Treasury Management including Effective management of relationships with banks and other financial institutions

- Experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues

- Oversee monthly MIS reporting, account payables, receivables follow-ups, payment of taxes etc. Generating the quarterly and monthly financial reports and any other ad-hoc financial and non-financial reports.

- Develop and maintain finance & accounting policies in alignment with statutory requirements

- Drive the timely completion of the budgeting process and make arrangement for the working capital requirement

- Provide inputs on profit and loss statement to the management

- Review operational and capital expenditure and ensure efficient use of financial resources

- Facilitate internal and statutory audits and action on audit recommendations approved by the management and as per company guidelines

- Develop and implement financial statistical measures to evaluate the existing and future financial situation and make timely recommendations to the senior management concerning major changes in the existing environment.

- Should have knowledge of Taxation VAT/Excise & other laws

- Contribute to the commercial and strategic development of the business.

- Analyzing complex financial data to provide accurate and timely recommendations to management for decision making purposes.

- Inventory control & reconciliation

- Financial & Accounting management: Produce Operations fixed cost and variable cost improvement Produce annual financial operational plan and measure performance thereof Detailed P&L analysis and reporting

- Establish challenging goals, lead the team and meet department and corporate objectives. Provide leadership on financial and risk management issues.

- Ensuring the adherence of Corporate Policies and Procedures

Education & Experience: Chartered Accountant, Certified General Accountant, or Certified Management Accountant designation is an asset. The candidate should be Chartered Accountant and have a master's degree in accounting or business administration and, or equivalent business experience and 15 to 18 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
