A leading Travel Company is looking for a Business Head

Location: Mumbai

Job Description - Business Head

(A) Strategic Role:

- New business development

- Brand Building Strategies

- Identification and segregation of potential Market Segments

- Responsible for P&L Account of the organisation.

- Revenue generation through new account development and key account management

(B) Operational Role:

- Handling team of 50+ people

- Responsible for achieving sales target

- Defining the exact marketing processes and responsible for executing the same.

- Developing relevant business proposals

- Monitor market Intelligence within the industry in terms of market development, new projects, competitive activity, new customers etc.

- Handling meeting with key Customers

- Provide necessary training to sales team as and when needed

- Monitoring & evaluating the performance of sales team – by guiding them to move in proper direction

(C) Organizational Role:

- To enhance organizational effectiveness through setting up appropriate marketing strategies

- Consistent follow-through and resourcefulness, in order to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Program Operational Leadership:

- Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all programs of travel industry.

- Identify opportunities for the company and/or to address organizational challenges.

- Lead, coach, develop, and retain the company's high-performers

- Develop and implement training programs and retreats to expand the capacity of all staff.

- Prepare and submit an annual operational budget, manage effectively within this budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.

External Relationship Development:

- Manage and cultivate existing relationships with Customers and supplier Management and expand recurring revenue streams.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO/CMD and the Board of Directors, Business Head will lead all internal operations and will have the following responsibilities:

- Working in partnership with the Management, create the strategic plan and implement new processes and approaches to achieve it

- Serve as the internal leader of the organization:

- Coordinate the annual operations plan and budget

- Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization

- Provide for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence; bridge national and regional operations and support an open-door policy among all staff

- Ensure that all programmatic partners renew their contracts

- Develop curriculum, tools, and training that meet cost guidelines

- Cultivate the values of the company within the organization

- Analyze the current technology infrastructure and scope out the next level of information technology and financial systems that support the growth of specific programs and the organization overall Budgeting

- Development and implementation of systems for reporting, measurement and supporting local revenue generation.

- Administrative aspects of the organisation.

- Quality Assurance

- Periodic review on Customer satisfaction survey

- Responsible for the overall operation of the organisation in accordance with the approved budget while providing the Customer with the maximum value for the money spent.

- Develop and implement business strategies for Flight team and Holiday Team and lounge operations that are aligned with our overall mission, vision values and strategies.

- Create an environment for employees that is aligned with the company culture through constant communication and reinforcement.

- Communicate and reinforce the service vision of the company to the employees.

- Responsible for overall quality assurance of the services rendered by both Flight team and Holiday team.

- Develop and implement strategies in coordination with HR and practices that supports employee engagement.

- Respond to customer concerns.

- Work to achieve revenue and profit goal

- Assist in the implementation of the sales and marketing plan.

- Increase sales by coaching employees on effective sales techniques.

- Maximize productivity by using forecasting techniques.

- Prepare monthly/yearly budget and MIS reports.

Key Qualifications

As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the core values of company and be driven by the mission. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for breaking new ground to lead travel industry. Beyond that, we are seeking a candidate that has proven experience in scaling a multi-site organization and a demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a driven, bright, diverse team.

As noted, this is an organization driven by the values of its people, so experience in managing a “values-driven” organization will be highly prized. Additional requirements are:

- Results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business acumen including problem solving, project management, resource management and creative resourcefulness

- Strategic Vision and Agility-ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan

- Capacity Building—ability to effectively build organization and staff capacity, developing a top-notch workforce and the processes that ensure the organization runs smoothly

- Leadership and Organization-exceptional capacity for managing and leading people; a team build who has experience in scaling up organizations; ability to connect staff both on an individual level and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability, develop and empower top-notch leaders from the bottom up, lead from the top down, cultivate entrepreneurship, and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team so as to put people in a position to succeed

- Action Oriented—enjoys working hard and looks for challenges; able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available; not afraid to take charge of a situation; can overcome resistance to leadership and take unpopular stands when necessary

- General Management—thorough understanding travel industry; broad experience with the full range of business functions and systems,in the travel industry.
