Key Accountability:
Build a successful and sustainable DC business
Build a reputable business to the market around a Datacenter Solution offering with Storage, Backup and Virtualisation encompassing the eco-system
Accountable for Revenues, Margins and a healthy Professional and Managed Services offering
Main responsibilities:
Internal Business Development
Collaborate with the supporting team (PS/MS) and ensure they are equipped with skills in line with the DC business objectives Manage Vendor Partnerships
a. Programmes
b. Sales Support
External Business Development
Build the DC business practice and generate awareness of the organisation as a provider for Datacenter, Storage, Backup & Virtualization player in the region.
Internal Sales Functions:
a. Constant Education and Training of the Sales Team in the DC business offerings and value proposition
Client Facing Skills
Ability to present a DC Solution Offering to the client:
a. Preparation and Presentation of a solution
i. PowerPoint (Essential)
ii. White boarding (Desirable)
b. Carry out a discussion of DC business value proposition discussion with an audience of IT Managers and up to CXOs (Essential)
c. Present thought leadership in a Forum (Desirable)
Ownership of a DC opportunity and the ability to see it to a full close
Ability to spot opportunities
Qualification:
BE
MBA (desirable)
Experience: (7+ years)
7+ years in related sales experience.
1-5 yrs in Sales Management.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong consulting type client relationships at IT Director / CIO levels
Financial and commercial awareness to effectively manage the practice
Strong strategic understanding of the use of technology and clients issue- s
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Knowledge
Ability to articulate and present the benefits of having a consolidated Storage environment (Storage Area Network, Networked Area Storage)
Understand and able to articulate a high level Backup Infrastructure
Tape Libraries, Backup Software, concepts and theories
Position and articulate Virtualization as a strategy encompassing, storage, server and networks
Experience
Vendor Storage Quota Bearing Sales Role
7 years or more in a Disk Based Storage Related Industry
Working knowledge of Virtualization, servers & Backup Software is essential
Knowledge of competitive and related storage technologies
Abreast of the latest developments, technologies and trends in the Storage Industry
Industry
Knowledge and network with key Industry storage people and movements
Good existing clientele base
Excellent relationship with key Storage Vendors
