Looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Business Auditor role - Mumbai location.

This role involves overseas travel (mostly to UK)

Job Responsibilities : To work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Community Lead/ Head of Audit and Audit Lead to generally achieve the following.

Planning :

- Articulate resourcing needs for audits, and actively participate in the resource scheduling to ensure appropriate use of the team for the Audit Plan and for Issues Assurance activity.

- Document the key processes and associated controls being examined in the audit. This will involve the use of flowcharts. The Auditor should be able to complete a control testing matrix (CTM) following their documentation of the systems and processes being reviewed.

- Produce a summary of key controls for the area under review and a testing plan for approval by the Lead Auditor /Head of Audit. Independently perform fieldwork meetings and keeping Leads/HoAs aware of progress.

- Finalisation of the Terms of Reference and planning document without minimal supervision.

Fieldwork :

- Responsible for an audit assignment to time, quality and budget.

- Responsible for leading wider scope area within the audits, perform independent testing and ensure testing covers the scope defined in the Terms of Reference,

- Responsible for preparing audit working papers in line with the IA audit practices and methodology, and ensure that the quality of the working papers and Teammate file meets expectations

Reporting and Closure :

- Actively contribute in the preparation of the Draft the audit report for discussion with the HoA, ensuring quality findings and well-articulated messages which draw out themes and root causes.

- Responsible for discussing the draft audit findings with line management and confirm the factual accuracy.

- Contribute in post audit review/lessons learned session conducted at the end of each audit assignment and reflected in individual's objectives for subsequent audits.

Issue Assurances :

- Required to co-ordinate and manage timely delivery of quality Issue Assurance work with clearly documented workpapers to evidence risk mitigation.

Stakeholder Management :

- Promote IA and the service it provides by building strong and effective working relationships with management.

- Support HoAs and Audit Director in management of stakeholder relationships through regular engagement with stakeholders and communication of relevant knowledge/updates back to the team.

Basic Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Chartered Accountancy/CPA/CIMA/MBA/CFA/Post graduate qualification

- Certifications such as CISA, FRM, CIA would be beneficial

- At least 2-5 years of work experience

- Good knowledge of COSO framework

- Practical and theoretical knowledge of business risk and control frameworks specifically with regards to Insurance and Investments business.

- Experience of risk based auditing and clearly understanding the relationship between IT risk and underlying business risk

- Financial Services/ product knowledge, particularly within Insurance, Asset Management (e.g. Equities and Fixed Income) or Investment banking is desirable.

- Prior audit experience in functional domains such as financial crime, anti-money laundering, investment management processes, compliance monitoring and program assurance.

- Ability to work effectively across a large audit team, understanding the team's role in the overall strategy of the firm

- Good knowledge of the principles of auditing and their application to the business within a risk based audit methodology.

Behavioural Skills :

- Strong organisational skills to take ownership of agreed targets to enable efficient completion of audit projects.

- Ability to work and support team members.

- An innovative mind-set and the ability to develop ideas which are implemented and have a positive impact.

- Able to demonstrate integrity and team spirit by exhibiting ethical behaviour in executing the job responsibilities.

- Motivate team members to deliver the objectives within timelines.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills a must; strong interpersonal skills essential.

- Must be able to multitask while managing both time and work load

- Must be highly motivated with strong analytical skills, willing and able to learn new business and system processes quickly

- Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to handle challenging discussions professionally.
