Business Analyst - Social Sector

Location : Mumbai

This is a contractual position for a minimum period of a year. Depending on individual performance and company requirements a career path may be considered.

About the client : It is a large Consulting firm which works with leading organizations on projects relating to strategy formulation, driving key strategic initiatives and in leading the implementation efforts.

In the Social Sector area our clients are CSR departments of large organizations, foundations, trusts, multilateral organizations and large NGOs. For these clients we do work relating to internal strategy with respect to program design, implementation, scalability and sustainability, knowledge partnership, assessment studies etc.

Role :

Project Execution - Completion of modules.

Typical modules would be

- Desk based research on identified topics

- Primary research with various stakeholders (field work as needed)

- Coordinating research work from third party providers

- Preparation of presentations / notes

- Prime focus is on project execution - contributes to completion of deliverables

- Maintains necessary rigor in deriving outputs by using appropriate tools / techniques / databases / information

- Adheres to quality standards required by the client

- Client interface under supervision of a Project Leader/Engagement Manager

- Support for business development and knowledge initiatives

- Identify list of target entities

- Create requirement hypotheses

- Identify contacts or leverage existing contacts for reach out

- Help with pitch presentation

- Help in creating proposals including initial research

- Help in research for thought notes or industry research

Qualifications : Post graduate in social sciences or equivalent (MSW/PGDRD/MA in Social Work) from a premier institution like XISS, TISS, IRMA, XIMB etc. and with a strong academic background.

Experience :

- Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in a reputed management consulting firm or social sector organization.

- Multi-sectoral experience (Corporate Social Responsibility, Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Livelihood, NRM, Health and Nutrition, Water and Sanitation etc.) would be of significant advantage.

- Exposure to and familiarity with responding to social sector consulting RFPs/ ToRs will be preferable.
