Brief :

- Strong BA's with experience in Middle Office/ Front Office and Product Control

- Understanding of how the business works and more specifically about the role that risk plays in the same

- Exposure to FDSF (Firm Data Submission Framework) BCBS 239 Projects, Risk Data Warehouse related Projects.

- Firm Wide Stress Testing Business Analysis and Software Delivery Projects.

- FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) Projects

- Risk in VaR (RiV) / Risk Not In VaR (RNiV) Projects.

- Risk Exposure Analytics and Report Building Projects (EEPE, Stressed EEPE, PFE etc)

- Good Understanding of PD, LGD and EAD for Counterparty Credit Risk.

- Volcker Implementation

- Basel 3 Implementation.

- Internal Model Method or AIRB Implementation

- Credit Value Adjustment (CVA) Projects.

- Good understanding of Business Analysis in SDLC for implementing Market or Credit Risk Based Software Delivery Projects.

- FRM or PRM Certification will be a plus.

Purpose: Background

To provide business analysis expertise and support to elaborate and document the business deliverables for the implementation and/or enhancement of the Market Risk Strategic Systems infrastructure and supporting processes.

The BA role will initially concentrate on supporting the Market Risk Credit Component deliverables from both a business and project execution perspective.

The team tend to get involved with several market risk related projects at any given time whilst also assisting on wider strategic, regulatory and FO related initiatives.

The role scope may include test planning, testing and support to facilitate user acceptance testing. The candidate may be required to support some project management responsibilities from time to time.

Responsibilities: - The BA role will concentrate on supporting MR component deliverables from both a business and project execution perspective.

- Develop the detailed business requirements, high-level solution design and FRD to a clear and unambiguous standard as a solid foundation for implementation by Software Delivery (SWD).

- Promote visibility, understanding and approval of the requirements with all regional stakeholders at all stages of initiation and definition.

- Support the Project Manager with analysis and development estimates and risk/issue identification.

- Ensuring projects are delivered in a consistent manner and in such a way so as not to subvert the alignment to the target global operating model and to achieve it in an efficient manner

- Work closely with market risk managers, regulatory and risk analytics and system developers to define and agree detailed business requirements globally

- Understand the MR system data flows and model implementation methodology.

- Provide functional test plans and liaise with SWD to provide non-functional test plans, arrange test environments and testing support. Liaise with users to confirm test requirements and ensure suitable UAT test plans are constructed. Ensure all testing is conducted in an orderly and efficient way.

- Maintain HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

- Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

Qualifications and Experience - Minimum 5years as a business analyst in Investment Banking.

- Ideally educated to degree level in a numerate subject.

- Strong business analysis experience in a market and/or traded credit risk context.

- Excellent knowledge of risk measures and sensitivities such as CS01, EAD, LGD.

- Previous experience working on IRC, CVaRrelated projects advantageous.

- Ability to see the big picture but also willing to get hands dirty and understand the details.

- Good organisational and presentational skills.

- Previous experience working in software development would also be of benefit, though not essential.

- Good English communication skills (verbal and written) - the ability to communicate effectively and clearly is vital.

Style and team fit - Team player with good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

- Willingness to dig into details and appetite, enthusiasm and desire to initiate change and execute strategy.

- Focused and delivery-driven with ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritise appropriately in a fast moving and often evolving environment.

- Pragmatic decision making capability.

- Hands on approach required and willingness to take personal accountability
