The Transportation Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation and logistics to drive the strategic planning and execution for the logistics function for a high growth business, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and a commitment to customer/client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities : - Planning : o Monthly, Quarterly planning logistics operations and vehicle mix basis sales outlook. o Prepare region-wise volume forecasts ensuring beat efficiency across multiple routes and cities. o Build an efficient logistics team and execute the GTM strategy across multiple cities. o Focus on implementation of Fleet Management and efficiency systems and drive data-based decision making at the highest levels. - Execution : o Deploy requisite vehicle mix including own and outsourced vehicles across warehouses/cities. o Drive reporting, loading, dispatch, and delivery of orders across all beats in a time bound manner. o Drive daily route planning, drop sequencing, and city coverage in joint coordination with Warehouse teams. o Fleet Mgmt. tasks including time-bound maintenance of owned vehicles and QC for all vehicles (including outsourced assets), vehicle compliance incl. DOT & CDL, etc. o Driver Management tasks including design of programs to train, incentivise, drivers with good performance and continuously run a pool of resources for growth driven hiring needs of the Company. o Contingency planning to ensure seamless operations in case of vehicle breakdown / no show / late reporting. o Vendor development, commercial negotiation for outsourced vehicles, maintenance charges, and related logistics expenses. o Develop and implement transportation SOPs, Policies, and Procedures to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency of logistics function. o Managing the development and implementation of transportation technology systems, including GPS tracking and route optimization software/s. o Budget and expense management - Developing and managing the transportation budget, including forecasting and cost control measures. o Collaborating with customers and suppliers to resolve transportation-related issues and ensure satisfaction. - Desired Skills and Experience : o 5+ years' experience into frontline logistics management experience at the rank of supply chain officer / Senior supply chain officer in a reputed FMCG system, General Trade, Retail Distribution. o Understanding of transport technology systems and focus on Data Driven Decisioning systems and processes will be key. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, and team members. o Commerce / Engineering / MBA grads from a reputable institution. o Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Tableau, tools.
