British Telecom - Consultant/Senior Consultant - Technical Project Manager

Key Terms of Reference:

- Develop and maintain detailed project plans while adhering to IT OPS and development teams

- Ensure that projects meet timeline and budget requirements

- Facilitate the resolution of issues and escalate issues to key stakeholders.

- Provide expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective procedures and systems requirements that meet business requirements.

- Collaborate with business, partners and vendors and develop a cadence to ensure alignment of projects and priorities.

- Ensure the teams have the resources, tools, processes, discipline, and capacity necessary to execute upon the agreed projects, priorities and SLAs.

- Facilitating the execution of IT service by ensuring the quality, completeness, tracking and reporting of work items as they flow between participants in key business processes

Summary Description for the Role:

The role holder is responsible for Liaison between Business personnel and IT groups to deliver appropriate IT projects for Group CIO Projects.

Key responsibilities are:

- For providing Capacity Planning, forecasting, and Year 0 costs identification to the Service Transition Manager who has Accountability for this.

- Rigorously manages scope (work with the business to prioritise functionality to deliver business benefit) to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters

- Derive estimate for complex requirement in collaboration with Component lead from specific applications

1. Sprint Planning :

a) To agree the Sprints that the Solution Story will be delivering with the CE Teams with the Service Transition Manager and Component leads

b) To manage the sprints delivering to the overall release

- Schedule Show & Tell for the Customer /CE Lead, Service Transition and E2E Test Managers .

- Ensure that various E2E quality gates are followed and audit with the individual component /Test teams.

- To ensure RFT right-first-time deliveries and ensuring any risks are identified much earlier and escalated to stakeholders

Qualifications:

- UG - B.Tech/B.E. - Any Specialization, Diploma - Any Specialization

- IT Project Management or Technology background. (Certification would be advantageous such as PRINCE2 / PMP

- Relevant, contemporary and industry recognized qualifications where appropriate.

- Relevant professional experience, relating to both business process and technical aspects of the role.

Skills/Experience:

- Experience 5-8 yrs

- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

- Proficiency with project management tools like Microsoft Project, Excel, Powerpoint

- Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally. Strong presentation skills

- Technology awareness of Oracle Fusion middleware, Java, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Apps

- Understanding of Project Management techniques and principles such as approaches to managing risk and developing realistic schedules.

- Be motivated, and able to work independently but fully aligned to an enterprise team.

- Manages costs and profitability for a work area and/or large projects.

- Anticipates patterns and links, looks beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications.

- Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems.

- Manages own time and that of others.

- Develops plans for work activities in own area over the medium/long term.

- Supports strategic planning activities.

- Explains/presents highly complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and prepares case accordingly.

- Ability to manage SDLC projects.
