Purpose of job:

The post holder will be responsible for all elements of management for shared services procurement category portfolio in order to execute the businesses requirements in the supply market and deliver the highest value through total cost of ownership solutions. This will include developing and implementing Shared Services sourcing strategies and establishing/maintaining value - adding relationships with suppliers. This will ensure availability of products/services in their scope of responsibility whilst optimising total cost of ownership and quality of goods and services procured.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:

Key Activities will be as follows: -

- Intelligent data analysis of spend patterns, spend compliance, market trends and contract registers to develop long term strategies for outsourced shared services portfolio

- Building clear and understandable business cases to support the adoption of global shared services strategy and specific projects

- Develop a strong understanding of the Supplier market, structures and market dynamics

- Build a framework which captures the shared services vendor environment including the capabilities that exists across the market

- Challenge existing in-house shared services processes and enable decision making of whether in-house or outsourced arrangement drives more economic or strategic benefit for the business

- Getting involved in the solution creation process of any new service coming in to shared services and bring in best practices of outsourcing industry

- Project manage major procurement projects, taking the lead professional procurement role on these projects to ensure appropriate input of procurement advice as well as effective project management

- Responsible for procuring, managing and maintaining relationships with a number of key corporate suppliers of Goods & Services and ensuring the ever-changing requirements of the business continue to be met by our suppliers in line with British Council procurement policy.

Experience

- Previous experience in procuring and Supplier Relationship Management role

- Experience of IT/ITES outsourcing contracts.

- Excellent interpersonal skills: writing, speaking, listening, persuading and influencing and collaborating.

- Analytical, evaluative, and financial management abilities with keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

- Building relationships with internal stakeholders and identifying innovative ways of working with suppliers especially in the shared services area.

Qualification : 

1) Demonstrable relevant work/industry experience in Procurement and Supplier management.

2) Bachelors Degree/PG.

1) Degree in Engineering is preferable.

2) Post graduate diploma or degree in procurement
