Position : GM - Accounts Qualification : CA Reporting to : CFO JOB PROFILE : Ensure efficient funding, investment and cost control activities to meet the growth objectives of Brigade Enterprises Limited (BEL). Drive effective tax planning, accounting and audit activities ensuring adherence to organizational guidelines, statutory compliances and best practices. Strategic : - Review and implement the Business Plans of BEL (long-term and short-term); Constantly track and monitor their progress and highlight deviations - Finalize critical financial funding decisions such as fixing and review of the debt equity ratio in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer - Develop a framework for the assessment of various funding options/channels for BEL - Develop and implement an effective investment plan to maximize returns and ensure security of funds - Develop and implement policies on the banking mix to ensure availability of funds for project and organizational requirements - Drive effective relationship management with Investors and Lenders to ensure cost effective and preferential services for BEL - Survey the environment to keep abreast of national and international developments that could impact the Organization's business; Develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies to address the same Operational and Financial : - Manage the investment portfolio of the Organization to ensure maximum return on investment in line with defined investment guidelines - Review credit rating periodically and develop mechanisms to ensure achievement of target credit rating - Ensure effective control of bank balances of the Organization to permit adequate working capital for day-to-day operations and effective management of surplus funds - Oversee the effective implementation of basic accounting systems such as payables, bill passing, reconciliation, preparation of vouchers, book keeping entries into the respective ledgers etc. in line with the accounting standards and Organizational guidelines - Ensure timely finalization and closure of the book of accounts - Ensure tax compliance by arranging for accurate and timely tax payment to minimize penal interest - Periodically review BEL operations with respect to adherence to statutory compliances; Highlight and report deviations to the Senior Management - Monitor and ensure adherence to Department budget People : - Conduct performance appraisals of Departmental staff / personnel - Assess and fulfill training and career development requirements - Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within all aspects of team work - Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team's capabilities.
