b. 12-15 years experience in sales and marketing in CDIT, Telecom or FMCG

c. Excellent analytical skills

Is it for you-

As a Brand Manager you'll probably start somewhere along the line in a marketing role; in a design agency; as an advertiser or in some sort of media profession. That way you'll get a thorough understanding of the whole business of brands, brand ownership, brand guardianship and brand development.

One way or another you'll love the world of image and communication - that's what branding is all about. Being in charge of a major brand; let's say Red Bull, means lots of opportunities to get involved in sponsorship and it can be a fast-paced and very glamorous world. Obviously not all brands are glamorous - or global. But your job is very abstract, it calls for a mix of psychology, design, advertising, sponsorship and initiative. You'll be part-businessman, part creative and often need to wear those two hats at the same time.
