Reporting: Cluster Head - Retail Banking

Role :

The role of the Branch Head is multi-faceted. He will be responsible for providing leadership to the sales and operation of the branch, ensuring compliance and achieving the financial goals of the branch. He must be familiar with all product lines of the bank. He will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operation. He will oversee the sales and operations on a daily basis and is ultimately responsible for business development and for the success of the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work with Cluster Head in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch; provide input to these objectives and to the manner in which performance will be measured and controlled.

- Ensure that the branch office is properly staffed and that the staff is trained to meet customer service needs as well as sales objectives

- Make certain that all office operations are performed in accordance with established Bank policies and procedures, either directly or through appropriate supervisor, e.g., balancing of books, control of vault cash, control of security documents, etc.

- Oversee the proper security, maintenance and cleanliness of the branch.

- Maintain current knowledge of the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India and all other regulatory authorities relating to branch office operations

- Monitor overdrawn checking accounts and delinquencies

- Conduct regularly scheduled sales and customer service meetings; actively encourages staff to build customer relationships

- Serve as an active member of the office customer service team and be held accountable for sales performance

- Maintain a working knowledge of the Bank's lending and credit policies and answers customer questions as appropriate; takes loan applications; approves or rejects loan applications within individual lending authority

- Make "outside" sales and customer service calls on present and prospective customers within the branch's market area

- Implement strategies to achieve financial targets and qualitative goals assigned to the branch as part of Bank's overall strategic plan

- Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensure that the office and all personnel adhere to the same

- Make provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel

- Review employee performance throughout the probationary period and on an annual basis thereafter

- Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales

- Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities

- Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately

- Bring out the best of branch's personnel by providing coaching, development and motivation

- Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities

- Address customer and employee satisfaction issues promptly

- Performing such other tasks as maybe assigned by the Cluster Head.
