Title: Manager Intercompany Accounting Function: Finance Location: Global Services - New Delhi, India Status: Regular / full-time Reports to: Senior Finance Manager - Intercompany Accounting The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is a general management consulting firm, widely regarded as a global leader in business strategy consulting. THE TEAM: The Global Services ("GS") Finance Operations Team is anchored in BCG's worldwide finance organization. The primary responsibility of the team is to provide top-notch financial operational support to a variety of offshore stakeholders who partner with the leadership of our Global Functions, senior finance management (including the CFO and, by extension, the Executive Committee and Operating Committee), Centre of Knowledge and Analytics (CKA) &amp; Practice Area (PA) Finance teams and local, regional and global finance colleagues. POSITION SUMMARY: The position is a member of the Global Accounting and Control ("GAC") team under the direction of the Head of Global Accounting and Control. The GAC team has various responsibilities including consolidating and reporting BCG's financial information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. In addition, GAC is responsible for establishing and communicating various accounting policies and procedures. The team is responsible for the dissemination of meaningful and accurate financial information on a consolidated basis, as well as on an individual affiliate office basis. This role is responsible for the oversight of BCG's complex intercompany system. This includes the invoicing process as well as understanding the impact of transactions on management, statutory and tax reporting. A key component of the role includes facilitating annual service agreements between various BCG businesses and shared service centers. The position is built around teamwork and may require the candidate to manage a team of one or two individuals. The Intercompany team is responsible for the execution of intercompany transactions including invoicing and related accounting for these transactions. The team is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of intercompany processes throughout BCG and refining these processes when necessary. The team maintains responsibility for performing allocation calculations and instituting replicable processes. The team is an integral provider of documentation and back up support required for tax audits that may occur in any jurisdiction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Inter-Company Accounting and Reporting - Ensure the integrity of the intercompany accounting processes is maintained throughout BCG globally - Ensure that internal controls over financial reporting related to intercompany processes are in place and operating effectively - Responsible for delivery of comprehensive, accurate and timely processing of Intercompany transactions, including processing of monthly compensation, overhead and service fees invoices from affiliate offices - Reviewing and approving the Monthly intercompany Journals for Local Service reimbursements &amp; Service level Agreements Invoices - Supervise &amp; Review the computation of Overheads, IC Allocations, and accruals - Process &amp; review the Automated Local Service reimbursements being processed through HFM system. - Supporting in IC settlements, including reconciliation of cash/bank accounts - Develop an understanding of the Oracle -Time &amp; Billing system, the Oracle General Ledger/Accounts Payable and Hyperion Financial Management systems. Provide support on accounting and reporting processes that utilize these systems - Partner with the Analysts to understand and manage the intercompany workflow including invoice workflow management, monitoring queries, status updates, problem-solving and escalation - Support data requests, analysis and model maintenance for models and systems used in support of different functional areas within Global Finance - Monitor &amp; support on the preparing of budgets / planning workbooks for Allocations/SLA/LSR - Respond to inquiries from affiliate offices as they relate to intercompany transactions, providing technical guidance and training to support a resolution by local offices - Develop an understanding of the overall intercompany framework and ability to connect the dots to understand areas that may impact the overall function - Cross-functional analytical support across a wide range of areas including Global planning, reporting, and finance operations. - Other responsibilities as identified Operational Effectiveness and Efficiencies - Play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement in the inter-company processes to gain efficiencies, which is inclusive of, but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications - Develop robust documentation of current processes to support staff training and eventually broader finance team knowledge sharing - Develop a strong governance model that would help in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of processes BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Qualified Chartered Accountant or CPA/CMA - 10+ years relevant work experience; less experience considered for exceptional performers - Hands-on experience with Inter-company function, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process - Experience in accounting operations and/or financial reporting while working in multinationals and complex, decentralized organizations - Excellent communication skills, written and oral; comfortable with interacting with senior leaders - Computer skills required: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) - Systems experience preferred: Oracle and Business Objects or other similar system is a plus - Systems experience preferred: Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Oracle R12, Oracle Smart View, Oracle Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Payable), Business Objects and other comparable systems KEY COMPETENCIES: The ideal candidate will possess both the technical qualifications for the role as well as other intangible attributes.
