Job Title - VICE –PRESIDENT- Marketing & Sales
Department - Marketing & Sales
Reporting to - CEO
Highlights of the desired candidate
- The candidate must be very strong in the core areas of Strategy , Product Planning ,Pricing , Positioning and Sales
- The Candidate must currently be Head of Marketing & Sales function of a large organization of Repute
- The current yearly sales Turnover of the company where the candidate is working should approximately be around 4000 crores
- The size of the sales team spread over all India should be at least 100 persons
- The sales team should be operating from at least 12 Cities in India
- The candidate should be based in Mumbai
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepares marketing plans (for trade and consumer) and formulates policies and guidelines for marketing activities and brand positioning
- Develops, allocates and manages the marketing budget for different products and drive the campaigns for all such products
- Develops and monitor the retail and distribution network of the Company.
- Negotiates and finalizes the corporate deals
- Monitors competitive environment and develops company’s sales policies to meet the industry and competitive scenario
- Develops, nourishes and sustains beneficial business relationships with core groups and end users in key accounts
- Responsible for managing the demand forecasting, ensuring ready availability of products as per the market demand
- Responsible for achieving monthly / quarterly and annual targets and revenue plans of the company
- Carries out market research, analyzes results and suggests ways to improve the brand perception
- Extends distribution channels by evaluating and implementing new channels
- Advises and plan for launch new destinations, new routes & new flights
- Reports on competition activity and market share on our routes; Works towards achieving high On time performance, while ensuring aircraft utilization remains higher than average
- Obtains slots that are required to execute the planned network; Optimizes schedule, given competition moves, seasonal factors, turnaround time, weather, spot opportunities etc.
- Recommends changes in the schedule to improve profitability
- Liaises with the authorities (AAI, DGCA, IAF & Navy & Private airports) to ensure all necessary permissions are obtained – particularly for IROPS, charters and any deviations from the schedule;
- Responsible for identifying, acquiring and developing new market segments
- Conceptualizes plans and executes various events related to customer relationship development, product awareness, servicing etc. to ensure customer delight and maximize revenue
- Provides timely and complete sales and revenue information to the accounts department
- Prepares a yearly ancillary plan with financial targets and actions and monitors every ancillary revenue stream on a monthly basis
- Proposes and implements internal projects for improvement of existing ancillary revenues leading to improvements in sales coverage, better conversion, collection rates, increase in unit revenue, etc.
- Develops and implements cargo sales and marketing strategies for the assigned airline product(s)
- Develops business plans to maximize cargo revenues
Experience/ Qualifications
- An MBA with Specialization in Marketing
- Relevant experience of 18 to 20 yrs in Sales & Marketing functions in FMCG or Airlines or Hospitality industry of experience in sales function.
- Should have strong copetetency and ability to drive in the areas of Strategy , Product Planning , Pricing , Positioning and Sales

Desired candidate profile
- Should be presently Head of Marketing & Sales for over 4000 cr P.A. business turnover.
- Should have adequate experience in strategy, product planning, pricing, positioning and sales
- Should have an experience of managing sales team of 100 salesmen, for minimum 12 cities, PAN India
- Experience in FMCG preferred but not Mandatory.
- Should be able increase the distribution channels for the airline?
- Should be able to develop enhance and grow new initiatives in the market to help the growth of the airline.
- Should be able to generate leads and contacts for new businesses opportunities, select, identify and build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with potential travel operators
- Should be able to lead the Marketing team in line with the company culture to ensure production efficiencies, streamlined processes, and value-adding marketing support to the business
- Should be able to devise a sales & marketing strategy plan consistent with Company’s targets
- Should be able to analyse market potential and consistently devise, define, monitor, revise revenue targets per route, per channel, and per market segment
- Should be familiar with distribution channels and their peculiarities
- Should have a strong experience in pricing strategies
- Should have proven capability in forecasting revenues in the short and medium term and proactively devises solution for optimization of revenues
- Should have consistent experience in efficiently managing cost of sales
- Should have proven capabilities in leading and steering a geographical remote sales team
- Should have proven familiarity in innovative communication tools and in social media
- Should have an expertise in advertising strategies and advertising cost efficiency
- Should be based in Mumbai
