Job Description :

- Boeing Enterprise Engineering Center in India (EECI) is developing engineering and technology solutions for a variety of products and services.

- Boeing EECI has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Manager of Engineering who will be responsible for performing and managing a portfolio of work-statements in support of Digital Aviation Solutions. The work-statement will include technology, engineering, product development, testing and support. This is a position requiring high level of technical expertise and management experience.

- This position will be located in Bangalore, India, and report functionally to the leader of Engineering & Technology in Boeing India, and on the program management opportunities, initiatives & projects to the assigned leader in CAS Digital Aviation Services.

- The selected individual will act as an interface and single point of contact in India for the CAS Digital Aviation Services organization. This individual will partner with various Boeing stakeholder organizations to develop a capability base to accomplish Boeing Digital Aviation Services objectives in India.

- This position will represent Boeing in interactions with senior leaders from Indian Industry, academia, Indian Government organizations, and Boeing's partners in India. This position will also identify sources in India capable of meeting Boeing's Digital Aviation technology needs, develop engagement options, and implement the selected options to achieve the desired technical and business objectives.

- The selected individual will manage a team of engineers, scientists and business professionals located in India and/or personnel who are on assignment in India to integrate and manage the work-statement being performed in India. The selected individual will also support identification and development of innovative technologies and solutions.

- This position will engage with internal and external stakeholders, maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners to develop integrated departmental strategies, goals and objectives, and integrate them with the strategy of EECI.

- This position will acquire resources for in-country activities, provide technical oversight of employees and suppliers, and lead process improvements to meet the requirements of internal stakeholders.

- This position will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, suppliers, peers, partners and direct reports to develop collaborative plans and meet objectives of the projects.

- This position will also motivate, develop and manage employees and first-level managers to achieve excellent technical and business outcomes.

- This position will provide project management guidance to and administer multiple projects, develop and administer budgets, schedules and performance standards.

- This position provides periodic updates to Boeing executive management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. This position will also be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with experts in Boeing organizations around the world.

- This position will support initiatives of EECI organization related to employee development, customer engagement, strategic relations, Government interactions, etc.

- This position will require frequent travel within India and internationally.

Competencies :

- Knowledge and deep understanding of state-of-the-art technologies, policies and procedures related to Air Traffic Management, Aircraft Performance, Software Development and Testing, Optimization and related areas - deep knowledge in one or more areas, experience in other areas. Knowledge of skills, abilities and tools required by subordinate employees to accomplish organizational technical objectives.

- Past experience and demonstrated ability to do core technology development and product development in the broad areas of ATM, Optimization, and Digital Aviation. Skilled in advising and mentoring subordinate managers, staff members and/or suppliers to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational challenges.

- Technical and Project Management skills to lead a diverse team consisting of Boeing personnel and partners.

- Exceptional business judgment and strong strategic counseling skills. Must be results-driven and have a strong bottom-line orientation.

- Teamwork is important in this position; individual must have strong team building skills. Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish results through subordinate managers or non-management employees, colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and partners, even when they are not direct reports. Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time-zones.

- Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.

- Strategic thinking and execution - must be able to develop comprehensive India intelligence / knowledge, and communicate with Boeing Engineering and Technology organizations, identify capacity/capability to perform current and projected engineering work statement and research, conduct on-site evaluations and assessments regarding their ability to perform these activities.

- Communication - strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI). Candidate must be fluent in English, and have expertise using MS Office tools.

- Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.

o Ability to mentor and teach subordinates and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.

Relocation Benefits If Indicated Are Limited To In-country Moves And Are Not Available For Overseas Relocation. There Is No Expatriate Package Associated With This Position.

Qualification :

- Technical degree, MS required (Ph.D. preferred) with 12-15 years of experience in large Aerospace companies.

- A Master's Degree in Business Administration will be a plus.

- Demonstrated technology leadership experience and capability in a major aerospace organization; ability to understand and communicate with technical experts over a wide range of technologies and engineering disciplines.
