Overview : The Data Material Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing our material management framework to improve data quality, cleanliness, timeliness, and accessibility across the enterprise.
- Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, this role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of our business processes.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Review New Material Master Data Requests: Analyze and determine the attributes of new materials, ensuring accurate entry into our systems.
- Communication: Act as the representative of the Material Master Data, providing timely and professional communication to users, management, and senior leadership regarding repetitive issues.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to validate adherence to master data policies and address non-adherence appropriately.
- Audit and Standardization: Regularly validate and correct data through audit reports to maintain standardization.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the P&D operations, offering insights and guidance.
- Analytical Skills: Utilize strong analytical skills to identify material coding, with a deep understanding of manufacturers and technology products.
- Change Management: Become a Change Ambassador, promoting and ensuring the adoption of new processes or implementations across the organization.
- Quality Control: Ensure that only approved and valid changes are implemented in the production environment.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot master data errors, understanding material functions from a master data perspective and explaining them to others.
- Attention to Detail: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and the ability to independently research items.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in material management and data quality control.
- Familiarity with SAP and other relevant enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and technology products.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must be methodical, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
- Demonstrated ability to translate IT service business needs into system and master data requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to interact appropriately in a matrixed environment with all levels of the organization.
- Understanding of the interrelationship and impact of master data on functions/applications and to be able to explain to key members in the business.
- Ability to work with and present information to no technical employees
- Ability to work as part of a team to drive results
- Detail orientated.
- Strong attention to detail, double-checks work for accuracy.
- Extensive materials experience, preferably with Black Box products, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, largely researching products and formulating data to defined standards.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or computer science or related experience, required
- 6-10 years relevant experience in data management and analysis or other related fields
- Prefer knowledge of SAP Material and Partner Master Data Management
- Highly skilled in excel data analytics
- Experience with computer system validation and validated testing is a plus
