Big Data Architect/Big Data Engineer - Hadoop/Java - IT

Summary :

As a Big Data Consultant, you will be implementing a number of projects for our clients and become a go to person. You would ideally be a specialist in Big Data technologies with excellent consultative skills. You would be working with various technologies from companies like Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR and Databricks. You would also be comfortable with various data visualisation and analytics tools like Qlik, Tableau, SAS VA etc.

Job Description :

A) Experience :

- A minimum of 10 years experience in systems and solution consulting.

- A minimum of 2 years experience in Big Data and Hadoop related technologies.

B) Skills Required :

(i) Must Have :

- Extensive experience in Spark, MapReduce, HDFS, Hbase, Hive, Sqoop, Pig etc.

- Working knowledge of setting up and running Hadoop clusters.

- Strong experience in implementing software solutions in enterprise Linux or Unix environments

(ii) Should Have :

The ideal candidate should have either - Platform Consulting & Implementation Experience- OR - Solution Consulting and Implementation Experience- .

Platform Consulting & Implementation Experience

- Extensive background in Systems Architecture, Clustering & Distributed Systems, Programming, Security, Networking & Load Balancing, Monitoring, Scripting and Automation gained in large mission critical infrastructures.

- Experience with integrating various security solutions such as LDAP, Kerberos, SPNego or system / installation management tools into the overall solution.

- Strong understanding of OS, network configuration, devices, protocols, and performance optimization.

- Experience on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.

- Understanding of configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

(iii) Solution Consulting & Implementation Experience :

- Demonstrable experience in gathering and understanding customer's business requirements, solutioning and implementing them.

- Strong programming experience in Java with design patterns, algorithms, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data analytics.

- In depth work experience on Spark, MapReduce, Pig, Hive etc.

- Experience in one or more visualisation tools like Qlikview, Tableau etc.

(iv) Nice to Have:

- Hortonworks or Cloudera certifications.

(C) Responsibilities :

- Proof of concept execution to prove the value of Big Data use cases.

- Full life cycle implementation from requirements analysis, platform selection and set up, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment.

- Provide consultative recommendations to clients to solve their Big Data challenges.
