Manager - Corporate Development

We need a manager - corporate development, to be a part of our exciting journey. The incumbent would be involved in evaluating potential business opportunities for investments and acquisitions, run program management and ensure successful integration into the Betterplace organization. The role will report to the Vice-President of Corporate Development.

What we're looking for :

- Assist in developing BetterPlace's corporate development M&A strategy (including alliances and partnerships).

- Analyze industry prospects by gathering information about target, market, competitive mapping, potential market share, potential acquisitions to find those that are strategically important.

- Capability of working independently with minimum supervision

- Ability to understand and learn new and emerging technologies in the blue collar workspace.

- Ability to understand the end-user mindset (in this case a blue-collar user) is highly essential hence the ability to communicate with stakeholders is an essential skill set.

- Stakeholders management and expectation setting would also be a critical skill set since the timelines committed would have a direct impact on client delivery and related milestones.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree - business or equivalent preferred.

- 8-10+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate finance roles with deal structuring experience preferred.

- Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

- Excellent valuation/analytical and problem solving skills; team player willing to contribute in a variety of roles (if required)

- Ability to prioritise and multi task in a fast paced, changing environment and be detail oriented.

What you'll do :

- Evaluate potential business opportunities, conduct market research, analysis and diligence, putting together the investment thesis and communicating recommendations to the CEO and the Senior Leadership team.

- Build point of view, storylines, go-to-market, competitive mapping documents.

- Research and analyse market segments and business models, highlight merits and risks and present findings to senior leadership.

- Market sizing and identifying trends in the blue collar space, analysing existing businesses from scalability, path to profitability and capability expansion and identifying markets for overseas expansion.

- Evaluates potential corporate development opportunities (strategic due diligence, financial statement analyses).

- Undertake and drive execution and integration of new partnerships/acquisitions and evaluate risks of new partnerships/acquisitions.

- Assist in the later stages of the M&A process as needed, including: preparing letters of intent, conducting due diligence, investment theses, negotiating final agreements along with Legal team and running target integration with relevant stakeholders.
