About the Role

BBA is expanding its research and analytics capabilities to cryptocurrencies and is seeking to recruit a data scientist who will help the team conduct deep-dive technical research on blockchain and smart contract codes. The candidate will collect, store and analyze data from the blockchain layer as well as 3rd party data sources. The candidate will be a creative techie and passionate coder seeking to build automated solutions for the firm.

Responsibilities - 

- Work closely with research team to understand crypto data sources which include blockchain layer data and other cryptocurrency data from various 3rd Party sources

- Collect and clean data, define the data model and maintain data in the company's database

- Calculate derived data-sets based on logical calculations and mathematical manipulations

- Enable easy data interpretation, visualization, and presentation via BI tools

- Analyze Smart Contracts and GitHub code

Skills/Experience

- Hands on experience on Python, Solidity, SQL (working knowledge of R would be a plus)

- Knowledge of extracting, structuring, storing and presenting unstructured data

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as problem solving skills

- Should be self-driven and detail oriented with an analytical mindset

- Should be a proactive and quick learner; a team player showing enthusiasm and drive to accomplish results in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with smart contract coding, blockchain coding, and auditing

- Knowledge of various cryptocurrencies and digital assets in the market place

- Knowledge about crypto market structure and participants
