Position Purpose:  This management position provides operational leadership to the General Services (GS) team in the country/country group. He/she is familiar with the Global Bayer GS processes (Event Management Operations and Contract Management Operations and ensures that these are being well managed and aligned with the global standards and requirements at the local level. This Management Position is responsible for directing, developing and maintaining an effective General Services set-up and thereby delivering the required business performance to contribute to Bayer's success. The position also provides leadership and direction, while defining and communicating a strategic vision for the General Services Organization in line with global strategy. He/she reports to the Head of Business Services country group South Asia and ensures the effective execution of the services as well as continuous process improvement and effective change management. Furthermore he/she will act as the liaison between local legal entity, the divisional and functional needs, the regional Shared Service Centers (SSC) and the IBO GS Operations function. This job serves to add value to the business by managing the global GS services locally whilst respecting the implementation of local norms and laws as well as according to the specific local needs, with the overall goal ensuring customer and employee satisfaction. The overall scope of management could be extended at a local level to other local services, in alignment with local country/country group demand and in agreement with the IBO GS Head at headquarter. Such services could span across areas like office/facility management, sample management, sales incentive administration etc.  Leadership & collaboration:  - Provides operational leadership to General Services(GS) country/country group team for Event Management Operations and Contract Management Operations.  - Assures competitive and innovative functional & process operations across divisions and in cooperation with other local functions.  - Accountable for the efficiency, quality and compliance of local service execution.  - Contributes to the global GS network with local best practices, discussion of issues and project participation.  - Steering and optimization of the local delivery model  - Ensures proper budget performance and alignment.  - Ensures up-skilling and development of employees and manages their continuous performance.  Implementation:  - Implement defined GS process and provide input for continuous improvements.  - Ensure compliance with global process designs and necessary adaptation to local norms and laws.  - Driving implementation and improving effectiveness of global Process Tools in local execution and according to local needs.  - Define processes for exception handling, their execution, consistent documentation and ensure implementation within team.  Efficiency & Optimization:  - Guide and monitor efficient and effective GS operations in the country/country group according to KPI & Support GS team to deliver agreed service levels and ensure customer and employee satisfaction  - Monitoring of GS KPIs and taking proactive actions to have an efficient service execution and monitoring.  - Manage and improve quality standards, manage daily service operations projects, responding to service demands and take appropriate action to resolve.  - Ensure efficiency and reduction of complexity by standardization and the use of best practices in service delivery based on global framework.  - Optimizing coverage of compliance standards and risk mitigation initiatives.  WHO YOU ARE:  - University degree or equivalent, especially with main focus on Administration, Business, Legal Services, Procurement or Event/Travel Management. Alternatively an equivalent progressive working experience.  - Several years of operational experience in the area of Business- or Administration Services. This should also include excellent management experience.  - Leadership experiences on managing operational teams (small to medium size).  - Proven experience with leading major projects.  - Developing strong working relationships with stakeholders and project team member.  - Knowledge of IT system and collaboration tools.  - Excellent communication / interpersonal and negotiation skills.  - Decision making and problem solving skills and ability to interface at senior level with third parties/ development partners.  - Proficient at operating in multicultural environments.
