Job Location - Chennai The overall purpose of the role - Driving a range of finance tasks which may include: reporting, business performance and analysis, cost management, acting as Finance Business Partner to business units, and consolidated reporting across Group, etc. - Provide accurate and insightful input to assist the decision-making process - Support Group in delivering its financial commitments Key Accountabilities - Key specific accountabilities - Lead delivery of key Group Financial processes which may include reporting, planning, business performance and analytics and Outlook - Responsible for end-to-end execution of Cost Transfers, Competitor Analysis, Consensus & Legal Entity Planning. - Perform review around Board/ExCo output materials to delivering key messages and support decision making at the most senior level - Drive enhancement of the strategic management processes, specifically over key performance indicators (KPIs), reducing workload that does not contribute to effective decision making or robust planning - Contribute to projects and longer-term programmes - Provide appropriate and timely guidance and feedback to businesses regarding KPIs, - Prepare financial reporting and management information for use with a range of stakeholders - Stakeholder Management & Leadership - Assist with the coordination of the Performance Reporting & Technical Analytics processes to support respective Heads to deliver the Output in a succinct, clear but comprehensive manner, on time with appropriate financial shape, agreed by ExCo and Board - Regular interaction with Senior Management and act as a bridge between London and Chennai team - Decision making and problem-solving - Role requires high levels of problem-solving ability, with complexity driven by technical knowledge (principally regulatory capital) as well as size of problems given Group-wide focus. Relevant knowledge is desired but not essential as will be learned on the job. However, what is essential is an ability to pick up complex concepts quickly - An enthusiasm for enhancing existing systems and process is also desirable as there is a continual focus on this in the team Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: 1. Business knowledge: - Financial planning & analysis or financial control experience preferable for both Group and in business - Good understanding of financial accountancy and analytics - Commercial knowledge of the banking industry - Appreciation of current / future changes in the of Structural Reform 2. Functional knowledge: - Qualified accountant. Or Management Post Graduate from a premier institute - Strong university degree/academics 3. Skills & Competencies: - Highly motivated self-starter - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Very good communication skills, written and interpersonal, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships - Excellent stakeholder management skills - Strong Leadership - Collaborative style, able to build relationships across the Group - Good line management skills, with an ability to develop skill set of direct report - Very comfortable working with systems/data - Makes a strong, positive impact and impression - Well-organized and resilient - Drives to achieve stretch objectives Overall awareness of the Group strategies and organizational structure and the key areas with which the jobholder may interface.
