About PnL Analytics, Barclaycard COO :

- At Barclaycard COO, we act as trusted advisers by developing and evolving the strategic direction for Barclaycard, supporting the delivery of Barclaycard's ambitions through building partnerships with clients and card schemes; whilst enhancing and protecting Barclaycard's reputation internally and externally.

- And within PnL Analytics, we drive critical business decisions for Barclaycard through leveraging data, analytics and enhanced forecasting techniques to deliver robust financial projections and tracking of marketing activity.

Overall purpose of role :

- This is a team leader position, which is accountable for heading up the team supporting the PNL Analytics activities for Barclaycard Commercial Card businesses, with particular focus on managing the PNL for all teams

- To lead a P&L modelling team which is able to adapt to the evolving model in response to changing commercial strategies

- Your team will be responsible for translating data (standard, non-standard and new) into actionable business insight for leaders across Commercial Card businesses

- To deliver consistent campaign models across Existing Customer Membership and Customer Acquisition whilst adhering to governance processes associated with P&L modelling

- Identifying new opportunities and optimising existing programs

- To deliver analysis to drive value-add action

- Use analysis to influence strategic decisions

- Supporting a culture where best practice is shared between geographies and the status quo is effectively challenged

- Manage your team in an effective and efficient manner, continually driving improvements

Key Accountabilities :

Provide best-in-class analytics :

- To support the strategic PNL agenda across all commercial Barclaycard portfolios

- Responsible for initiating, defining, delivering and synthesising analysis to optimise the risk adjusted profitability of the business

- Measure and find better ways to measure performance of existing and future activities

- Influence deployment of marketing activities to ensure ability to test and learn, and enable measurement of performance against objectives

Stakeholder Management and Leadership :

- Share analytical insight with the commercial teams

- Proactively drive strategy by challenging senior stakeholders where appropriate

- Work effectively with peers and management team to achieve shared business objectives

- Present and communicate results to influence senior level stakeholders

- Collaborate with Commercial, Finance, Risk and Business Intelligence teams to drive business value.

- Provide inspirational leadership demonstrating commitment to the strategic goals as well as focusing on execution and delivery

Person Specification :

Essential :

- A degree/diploma in an analytical/business related discipline

- Experience in leading, motivating, managing and developing individuals

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work

- Leadership and people management skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to translate insight into a coherent story that drives action

- Ability to drive insight from that data, assess the commercial / financial impact and recommend action

- Conceptual thinking - find innovative ways to solve analytical problems

- Team working - Commitment and ability to work with cross-functional teams

- Ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines

- Effective stakeholder management skills

Preferred :

- Experience analysing programmes through the lens of brand / customer engagement metrics as well as P&L value

- Industry knowledge (ideally experience with major international financial services firm)

- Understanding of statistical methods to enable appropriate interpretation of results
