Core responsibility is to plan and execute audit assignments in accordance with testing plans and aligned to relevant policies, procedures and quality standards providing assurance to Management that the processes and controls within the reviewed BU are effectively designed and operating to mitigating the identified risks. This will include : - To be a key member of the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) team contribute to the planning and execution of the annual SOX process for business processes. - Review and assess adequacy of process documentation, perform design effectiveness and operating effectiveness testing and report control issues in various areas - Drive improvements across the SOX team and the wider control environment across the Bank - Influencing stakeholders in BUs served by Chief Controls Office, Noida to embed a strong control environment and risk management culture. - Support the SOX controller with ad hoc tasks Your Role : - Develop and maintain Overall Control Framework (Operations and SOX) - Ensure all Controls Testing related requirements are complied with. - Manage activities like RCA Refresh, Testing of Controls (SOX-OR - Manual, Automated Business Controls, General Computer Controls), Change Control, Risk Events, and OPUS etc. - Review reports and MI being produced for Control Committees, CIRF (Cluster Issue Review Forum), Governance Forums, other Issues MI and weekly planners to drive Risk and Governance activities, etc. - Ensure compliance with applicable policies to Barclays Finance Noida as communicated by BGSC. - Subject Matter Expert to ensure that all policies are interpreted and implemented as per Group guidelines. - Perform regular testing and reviews across Business Units supported by Chief Controls Office Team Noida to ensure 100% policy as well as regulatory compliance - Build strong working relationships with the Onshore Chief Controls Office Team, Operational Risk Team, SOx Controllers and Operational Risk people in various BUs. - Influence and convince internal stakeholders (different BUs as well as Process and Control owners served by Chief Controls Office Team, Noida) and external stakeholders (e.g. External auditors). - Attend meetings to review progress on SOx and OR issues with Barclays Finance Noida Senior Management and Stakeholders of BU supported by Chief Controls Office Team Noida. - Influence and facilitate decision making and convince internal stakeholders (Leadership of BUs catered by Finance Governance & Controls Team Noida, BIA as well as Risk and Control Owners) and external stakeholders (e.g. Statutory Auditors) regarding the Control Environment. - Analyze issues and identify root causes, provide recommendations/solutions on resolution of issues, change management projects, BIA / PwC findings, etc. - Make presentations in Governance Forums, other AVP forums on various risk and controls updates and ensure that the agreed decisions are implemented in time. - Act as a SME on failure of controls and processes and escalate issues as required. Essential Skills : - Qualified Chartered accountant or Equivalent with post qualification audit experience in a reputed firm / MBA (Finance) of a minimum year with overall work experience - Commercial knowledge including industry experience on SOX and Risk Management practices including but not limited to Internal Audit. Ability to communicate internal control concepts clearly, in a business context. - Comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks and processes, and all aspects of Operational Risk management. Some experience of designing, communicating & implementing internal control policies. - Influencing and convincing skills to impact decisions of onshore and offshore stakeholders and external stakeholders. - Sound commercial judgment and overall understanding of the Banking and Financial Services Industry, particularly the business impact of the regulatory environment - Highly motivated, business-focused and forward-thinking - Ability to manage reporting lines and relationships across multiple disciplines - Manages senior and/or challenging stakeholders across Barclays Finance Noida and Barclays group Desirable Skills : - Proficient in use of MS Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power-point). - Knowledge of internal control and regulatory requirements & practice e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO, Basel II Accord relating to operational risk. - Relevant Risk certifications like CIA, CISA etc. - Awareness of the specific current requirements of the US GAAP / IFRS/IAS regimes - Awareness of the current/ emerging best practice in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404. - Exposure to SOX within a previous financial services organisation - Project management experience - Previous experience of change management and business improvement, using quality techniques About Us : Barclays is a transatlantic consumer, corporate and investment bank offering products and services across personal, corporate and investment banking, credit cards and wealth management, with a strong presence in our two home markets of the UK and the US.
