About Credit Analysis

Credit analysis write credit reports for clients- new and renewed financing needs and report on any material factors to Risk Sanction Units.

The team provide credit analysis service support to Front Line Origination with handoff to the Bank's Risk Sanction Units (RSU) (Second Line of Defence) to risk assess and approve credit facilities for the client for all Barclays UK and Barclays International clients.

The responsibility of the team is for the writing of credit reports focussed on the analysis of the clients- business, incorporating the financial and structural risks inherent in providing a range of financing and settlement products and the ongoing analysis of business performance of our corporate banking client base across all industry sectors.

The service provision is performed on behalf of the Front Line for review and approval by RSUs in the following circumstances:

- New funding requests for existing and new clients

- Refinancing requests for existing clients

- Annual reviews for existing clients

- On-going analysis of client performance and reporting on any material factors to Risk Sanction Units

Overall purpose of role

- A member of Corporate banking team responsible for supporting nominated RDs who are developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of Large/Mid Corporate customers.

- Provide high-quality financial analysis support to RDs, acting as an interface with other areas of Barclays Corporate and undertaking the monitoring of customers financials.

- Analytical Specialist dealing with a range of financial information for a number of corporate clients which may span across various industries.

- Responsible for reviewing and agreeing the Monitoring and Control elements of complex Facility Letter documentation.

- Working in partnership with the Credit Writing and Post Sanction Case managers, Coverage team, servicing team and other specialists to ensure that we provide a joined up service to our customers at all times.

Person Specification

- Preferably CA or CFA or FRM or MBA (any discipline)

- Prior experience in corporate credit analysis in a global bank with relevant experience.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

- Strong Financial Statement Analysis skills

- Deep understanding of Corporate Lending products, Opportunity Assessment and Deal Structuring

- Strong communication skills

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS

- Awareness of legislation affecting the Bank and customers (including the Data Protection Act, Companies Act, Insolvency Act, Money Laundering and confidentiality regulations, Sarbanes Oxley and Basel).
