Purpose of the Job :

Comply with provision of direct and indirect tax .

- Computation of tax liability, timely payment, filing of returns and furnishing information for the purpose of assessments or other scrutiny by tax authorities.

- Addressing queries from internal and external customers, related to tax on day to day issues.

- Interaction with tax consultants, Life Insurance industry peers, on tax issues.

- Identifying potential areas of dispute with authorities and preparing for corrective action.

- Furnishing the information auditors, management and other stakeholder.

Major Challenges :

- Frequent changes in tax provisions, and rules.

- Lack of clarification on various tax provisions.

- Different stands on issues by different insurance companies.

- Longer span for investigation and litigation.

Demonstrable BALIC Competencies - Key/ Distinguishing for the Role :

- Profound knowledge of direct tax and indirect, act rules and notifications.

- Awareness about the latest provisions of tax laws,

- Experience in insurance industry/ financial services preferred.

Educational Level - Chartered Accountant.

Work Experience :

- 3-4 year experience in indirect tax.

- Coalition of various data for returns.

- Filing of returns.

- Submission of information to tax authorities.

- Tax assessment, scrutiny or audit by tax authorities.

- Replies/ Presentations.

- Addressing the queries on tax .
