CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

(AZIZI BANK, KABUL - AFGHANISTAN)

Position - Chief Finance Officer

Location - Kabul, Afghanistan. (No traveling outside Kabul)

Education:

i. MBA degree with Specialization in Accounting, Finance or related area.

ii. Professional certification such as CA/CIA/CBA/ CPA/CISA/CFE / ACCA is desirable.

Experience:

- Minimum 7 years experience in relevant Professional position in financial institutions.

- Experience in Finance, budgeting, Accounting, Risk Management, asset & liability Management.

- Progressive accounting and financial analysis experience.

- Experience as a Senior Financial Officer at a Financial Intuitions.

- Minimum 5 years Banking Experience will be given preference.

Duration - 3 years Contract (with 3 months of probationary period)

Compensation:

A very competitive compensation package will be offered to the right candidate, with a 3 year contract. Competitive Benefits/Salary plus free furnished accommodation, free food and free transportation (pick and drop), passage to home four times in a year. (CTC USD 65,000- 100,000.)

Job Description: (but not limited to)

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

1. To manage & control Finance Department, finalize the Financial Statements of the Bank as per IFRS standard, manage the compliance related to taxation and provide MIS to BoM and BoS.

2. To submit the regulatory Reports/Returns to DAB within the stipulated time norms.

3. To assist the Management in taking decision related to Accounting Policy, Taxation, and other related matters.

4. To planning, budget and ensure that all the financial ratios of the Bank are within the Central Bank of Afghanistan stipulated norms.

5. Coordinate & facilitate audits by external auditors, Ministry of Finance and DAB

STRATEGIC RESPONISBILITIES

1. Apprise the Management and staff members on latest development in Accounting, Taxation and other related areas.

2. Ensure operational effectiveness of the Department in liaison with BoM and BoS.

3. Assist Management in framing critical decisions by providing inputs, analysis results etc.

4. Impart training to new and existing employees in the areas of Accounts, Finance and Risk Management.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To ensure smooth functioning of day – to –day activities such as processing of bill payment requests, their entries in the system and up keep of all relevant records.

2. To control and supervise compliance of systems, procedures and regulations for internal working of the Finance department as per Bank’s policy, procedures, DAB and other regulatory authorities.

3. To ensure proper payment of Taxes and filing of returns.

4. To manage and control members of team of Finance Department for the smooth functioning of the Department while maintaining discipline.

5. To train and educate staff of the Department.

6. To assist the CEO and execute any other jobs assigned by him from time to time.

CAPACITY BUILDING & PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT

1. Develop a team culture where the staff accomplishes the objectives of the Department with a spirit of achievement and success through joint effort and mutual co-operation.

2. Ensure periodic job rotation of staff and develop their multitasking skills and to ensure their professional growth.

3. Assess training requirements of the staff and communication of the same to HR Department to enable the staff to acquire desired skills and competencies required for the job.

4. Actively engage the staff in performance feedback and counseling on regular basis to achieve desired results as per the objectives of the Department/Bank.

Desired Candidates profile: Knowledge of International Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards and Management Accounting Systems. Investment Management skills, Strong Analytical skills and ability to think strategically, Knowledge of Financial Software packages, Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
