In the last 36 months, 120+ grants have been made in our areas of intervention (further broken down into specific themes) - Vulnerable Groups, Nutrition and Governance. The APPI represents a workplace that is well entrenched in diversity, inclusion and consists of individuals who are proficient at being specialised generalists, can double and triple hat with ease with BAU as well as specific projects with an aim to transform the APPI mission Overview: The HR Manager will manage all aspects of the people function with an aim to delivering the people vision of APPI. The role entails being a generalist HR with experience in handling individual and group processes that are outcome driven and linked to the delivery of an operating plan. The candidate is expected to develop and maintain a variety of relationships across the organisation, with partners and other stakeholders, and will play a pivotal role in implementing the discourse and narrative of the APPI around measurable social change. Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition & Management: - Understand the recruitment landscape of the APPI in order to land innovative solutions to nuanced people requirements - Invest effort, experience and knowledge into building a strong pipeline of mould breakers who are well positioned to achieve the APPI vision - Tap into a variety of sources to find the best people, establish connects and make sure good talent is not missed - Conduct the HR interview for every candidate and gauge suitability from a role, positioning and compensation perspective - Manage all corresponding activities - reference checks, decision on compensation, role fit and roll out of the offer letter - Ensure that the recruitment process is well defined, well communicated to all stakeholders and most importantly achieves a quick turnaround time between step 1 and final offer - Maintain an updated tracker that captures all necessary information which will serve as a database for all the intelligence required on recruitment - Work extensively with the SMT team to gauge man power requirements, establish role-to-skill mapping, and respond effectively to spike in demand for talent - Develop the best new joiner orientation and deliver an unforgettable induction experience Capacity Building - Curate the individual development plan for the APPI staff that is consistent with the APPI vision and seek participation through enrolment - Introduce and see to implementation capacity building plans that are delivered through a host of exciting and innovative initiatives - Collaborate with industry experts, organizations and groups who will promote multidisciplinary learning and input into the professional development of the APPI staff - Build mechanisms to measure, evaluate and assess the outcome of the initiatives, improvise when required and continuously challenge status quo - Embed the importance of learning and development as a critical tool to respond to dynamism and change prevalent in the social sector - Work with the program team to design, execute and assess capacity building interventions for our partners Engagement & Communication: - Strive to build a happy organization, motivate and engage employees through consistent, uniform and are fully designed engagement interventions - Partner with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to roll out engagement initiatives that will result in team synergies, healthy working relationships, reduced conflict and promote a sense of belonging to the organization - Develop fun, energetic and creative communication strategies for internal and external consumption that resonates with the core values of the APPI Organization Development: - Build a strong performance management process that is well thought out, well communicated, and well understood by the APPI staff - Ensure the process of setting objectives, performance review and assessment is stitched together seamlessly and delivers an impactful experience to the APPI staff - Promote diversity and inclusion at all levels in the organization through dedicated interventions - Enable the organization to face extraneous challenges and equip the leadership to meet demands of an ever changing, dynamic environment - Build intelligent systems, work methods and processes that allows for efficiency and effectiveness of processes and routine jobs - Take care of all activities with regard to compensation and benefits including salary benchmarking, annual review, revision of the salary grid, promotions and internal movements - Maintain the policy repository of the APPI and ensure all compliance requirements are met on time Qualifications and Experience: - Master's degree in Human Resources is required - Five to seven years of work experience as an HR Manager - Should have made significant and long lasting contributions in his/her area of specialization - Some experience in the social development sector would be great.
