About BIU : Axis Bank's (BIU) : This is a high profile team with a mandate to drive data based decisions within the bank. Reporting in to Head Banking Operations and Transformation, this department works with all businesses of the bank including retail, small business and corporate to drive analytics. In terms of functions, the department has teams focused on all aspects of analytics for the bank including risk analytics, financial crime analytics, business and marketing analytics, building predictive scores, data engineering and business reporting and insights About the Role : The person would be a part of the Data Science and AI CoE team primarily focusing on leading the in-house Model Risk Management team. The team's mandate is to identify and manage model risks across the model lifecycle including model development, implementation, and utilization. Key Responsibilities : The candidate will be responsible for the following in his/her job role : - Perform validation and provide effective challenge to model components throughout the model lifecycle, including modelling data and input, model methodology and performance, model implementation and ongoing monitoring, model assumptions and limitation, and model governance and documentation. - Manage interaction with model owners and developers during the model lifecycle. - Present model validation results, including findings and model ratings, to model owners, users, senior management and, when requested, regulators and internal audit. - Review and monitor the remedial actions taken by model owners and developers to ensure the findings are properly and timely addressed. - Provide guidance to data scientists and risk analysts in the course of validation process. - Contribute to strategic, cross-functional initiatives within ERM. - Support the execution of various reporting projects in compliance to model risk management policy and procedures. - Support model governance activities such as model inventory and model documentation library and validation calendar. - Research and innovate on measuring model risks for non-linear and AI models Qualifications : - Advanced degree (master's or above) in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or Finance - Minimum 7-8 years of work experience. Banking/ Insurance experience will be added advantage Knowledge : - Prior exposure to credit risk and model risk - experience in risk analytics and models - Good understanding of model development process and statistical nuances - Banking experience necessary - understanding of all banking products in Retail and Corporate - Very strong analytical and problem solving abilities Skills : - Should have experience on using SAS, Python, PySpark, SAS Model Manager - Good understanding of modelling techniques and risks involved - logistic regression, neural networks, na- ve bayes, random forest, XG boost, CNN, LSTM - Strong data handling, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to process large volume of transaction level data and efficiently derive actionable results. - Good team handling skills and ability to mentor juniors to drive outcomes - Having a - results oriented- attitude with - go get it done- skill About Axis : Incorporated in 1994, Axis Bank is one of India's most trusted banks &amp; the third largest in the private sector.
