Job Title : Domain Expert - IAR

Team / Domain: Investment Accounting and Reporting

Reporting to : Sr. Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Operational Responsibilities :

- Skill Development for Investment Accounting and Reporting (IAR) domain

- Training Framework Design: Developing & maintaining the training structure for new-joiners as well as tenured team members

- Driving the SHIP Academy: Conducting regular trainings on domain, technical and process related aspects of IAR scope

Accreditation :

- Administering tests, tracking progress and scores

- Knowledge Management

- Complete ownership of knowledge management for the IAR domain

- Responsible for content creation and validation to ensure the subject matter is updated and comprehensive

- Acting as a central control point for content management

E-Learning :

- Content creation, documentation and support in conversion to e-learning platform.

- Responding to RFI queries

- Participating in transversal knowledge management and L&D initiatives

- Investment Accounting Operations

- 10-15% time dedicated to production or review to ensure knowledge is updated

- Enabling Best Practice sharing across geographies

- Ensuring SOPs are accurate and updated by coordinating with operations

Technical Consulting :

- Supporting expertise level projects at FSSC and CoE

- Contributing towards RCA for errors/misses in BAU teams

- Participating in process studies and contributing to systems and process enhancements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES :

Education and Experience :

- CA / Post-graduate degree in accounting / finance required

- 6 - 8 years of experience in investment accounting/asset management scope (including knowledge in preparation and review of financial statements

- Hands-on teaching experience

- Good knowledge of accounting of financial instruments like Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives.

- Good knowledge of Investment accounting topics like impairments, valuations, statutory reporting

- Previous experience in Training and Review environment

- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs

Key Skills and Competencies :

- Passion for learning and knowledge dissemination

- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc)

- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively

- Strong report writing and record keeping ability

- Good computer and database skills

Technical Competencies :

- Sound knowledge of concepts of capital market and financial products

- In depth of Knowledge of International GAAPs related to investments (IFRS, US GAAP)

- In depth Knowledge of fair value measurements as per IFRS

- End to end understanding of Investment accounting/reporting domain in ERP/SAP environment preferable

- Ability to understand P&L impact of Financial products

- Understanding of Pricing and Valuation

- Proficient on Impairment of Financial Assets

- Exposure to ERP applications like SAP desirable

- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Language Skills & Others :

- Strong English communication skills - speaking, reading and writing

- Other European languages are an advantage

- Strong change mindset

- Open to working in European shifts

- Travel to a European country for a period of 2-3 months may be required.
