Job Purpose: - Implement the internal audit data analytics and automation program by working on data extraction capability building, especially from Data Warehouse/Information Technology sources, working with IT service providers/Data Science team/other internal stakeholders; - Implement specific triggers basis potential for automation of triggers including reconciliations, deviations to business processes and exceptions by using client and/or other methods to suit the objectives. - Engagement with operating management functions to follow-through the identified thematic issues to closure, facilitating ongoing improving the internal controls environment. - Oversee the operational functioning of the internal audit partner firm team, to ensure all audits as per audit calendar are completed on time, as well as open issues remediated as agreed by management functions. Functional and role context: - The Internal Audit function works on scope and plan created in discussion with Management and approved by the Audit Committee of the Board. - Internal Audit is charged with responsibility for assessment of the adequacy of operating controls including Internal Financial Controls. - Currently, the mainstream internal audit fieldwork is carried through professionally independent audit firms appointed by the Board and is operationally governed by the internal audit in-house team. As a key area of enhancement of methodology to facilitate ongoing exception tracking, the internal audit function has embarked on the automation of key triggers based on population testing and data analytics, with an objective to complement the mainstream audit fieldwork. The key challenges in this role are: - While some progress has been made in terms of infrastructure and identifying relevant triggers, it is still a new initiative and needs entrepreneurship skills to set up technology-based processes to identify relevant objectives/triggers/exceptions, corresponding data sources (including research on fields, tables, system, system linkages etc.), and to understand the nuances of business processes using the systems from which the data is extracted. - The role will work closely with multiple stakeholders, Data Science team, Technology teams and the relevant operating functions for whom the exception triggers are being generated. Enabling Skill Sets &amp; Qualifications - Critical skills required for this role is a deep understanding of Data Science, Technology systems (from a business perspective), reasonable familiarity with the Lending businesses environment, basic understanding of financial products, good problem-solving abilities, interpersonal and people management skills. - The education &amp; experience required to meet this profile is a Data Science professional with 3 - 10 years of experience in financial services, preferably lending business. - The other supervisory responsibilities on internal audit firms- teams are largely administrative in nature in terms of effective coordination between functions and audit partner teams and facilitating the completion of the audit process. Principal Accountabilities:- Accountability : - The role would have to carry out an end-to-end cycle from identification of triggers and the data sources, followed by code scripting either on Data Warehouse infrastructure and/or client, carry out functional UAT engagement to ensure the triggers are correctly generated and the publishing of reports to functions. - Oversee the functioning of the internal audit partner team Supporting Actions - - Work with Internal Audit Head &amp; team colleagues, as well as functional experts, to identify useful exception triggers; - Work with diverse inputs such as product programs, SOPs, past audit and compliance inputs, system functionality documents, database / Dataware Warehouse capabilities etc. to assess the feasibility of the data availability to carry out the scripting as required; - Carry out the scripting on the client and /or Data Warehouse directly, or any other tool/system employed for the purpose by the organization/function. - Carry out the UAT process to ensure the triggers set up function as envisaged. - Publish the exceptional instances/transactions reports to relevant stakeholders for closure. - This role will enhance the capability of the Audit function considerably to continuously progress on heavy use of data analytics for internal control assessment on specific areas. - Supervise the audit partner team to meet regular milestones in fieldwork, query resolution with management functions, the release of draft reports, organize management meetings and ensure final reports are released on time. Also, follow through effectively on agreed remediation points from audit reports to ensure closure.
