AVP/VP - Technical Lead/Architect - BFSI

Reports to : Big Data Platform - Solutions Lead

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading development projects integrating data sources with the Data Analytics Hadoop platform. This encompasses aspects of project management (Agile), design, development, quality assurance and operationalization, as well as team leadership.

Responsibilities/Tasks :

- Planning, estimation and prioritization of data on-boarding stories

- Design and development of integration tools and technology

- Create re-usable patterns and paradigms

- Creation of support infrastructure, including OLA's, SLA's and training documentation

- Quality assurance and release management

- Ensuring delivery in adherence to appropriate controls, standards and methods

Experience/Exposure :

- Proven development experience in Informatica & Hadoop / Big Data Development

- Good written and oral communication skills

- Goal oriented structured thinking and effective organizational skills

- Delivery in an Agile framework

- Applied knowledge of several Big Data integration technologies, including:

a) HDFS

b) Data Movement and Preparation (one or more of Kafka, Pentaho, SQL)

c) Data Management and Warehousing (Hive, Warehouse architecture, OLAP)

d) Programming (Python, Spark, Java, Pig, Hive, MR,)

e) Scheduling, monitoring and alerting (CtrlM, Geneos)

f) Dev Ops (Atlassian, Agile, Docker, CI/CD, UNIX SA, Scripting, AWS/Cloud)

g) UNIX administration (RedHat)

Education/Certification : Educated to degree level (or overseas equivalent)
