We have the opening with one of the leading investment bank for Credit Analyst role.

Job Location : Kolkata

Designation : AVP/VP

Role Purpose:

Lead a region (i.e. HBAP/HBEU/HBUS) for the Corporate Sector by providing high-quality functional support to the stakeholders and the analytical community with the objective of achieving service excellence.

- Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with diverse stakeholders, manage day-to-day process, contribute to strategic initiatives and support Senior Management in implementing them.

- Subject Matter Expert: Play the role of a SME and drive a team of people with the aim of providing and nurturing subject expertise in sector, policy, and region-specific policies and procedures.

- Quality Control & Guidance: Provide guidance and governance around quality control to ensure high quality credit submissions.

- Resource Management: Optimally manage human resources; guide and mentor team members.

- Risk and Control: Foster a culture of compliance amongst the team and manage elements of Operational Risk.

Active management of team members, maintaining productivity of the team, capacity planning and optimal allocation of work flow, hiring and recruitment will also need to be managed

Knowledge & Experience

- Strong Credit, Product and varied industry knowledge and relevent experience in Corporate Banking, Research and/or Risk management.

- Post Graduation in Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent such as a Chartered Accountant would be preferred. Candidates with CFA and other risk management qualifications will be given preference.

- Excellent credit background with strong spreadsheet / financial modelling skills. Demonstrated ability to weave sectoral knowledge, credit policies and ongoing external events into a credit proposal.

- Excellent written and interpersonal skills, preferably those candidates who have traditionally been writing in a research or credit coverage role.

- Strong people management, people development and stakeholder management experience.

- Experience in building teams from the ground up and in a strong mentoring capacity.

- Experience in working in an offshored organisation and demonstrable ability to navigate and influence a diverse set of senior stakeholders.

- Able to effectively manage stakeholders and Sector Leads across multiple geographies.

- Can inspirationally lead a large team functionally and engender positive relations and respect.

- Ability to challenge and to have difficult conversations whilst maintaining relationships.

- Ability to think and act broadly and strategically rather than focusing only on short-term, local challenges.

- Able to navigate and influence a diverse set of stakeholders while demonstrating independent and objective thinking around issues.

- Able to communicate a compelling vision for local staff consistent with the global priorities.

- Reinforcing a local culture which emphasises both HSBC values and norms along with local priorities.

- Being comfortable with an ambiguous and changing context while being able to drive tangible change.
