We have a wonderful opening with one of a global infrastructure major company in Bangalore .

Company Brief :

The company based in Bangalore headquartered global infrastructure major with interests in Airports, Energy, Highways and Urban Infrastructure sectors. Founded in 1978, the Group is well diversified and professionally managed. Employing the Public Private Partnership model, the Group has successfully implemented several iconic infrastructure projects in India.

- In the Airports sector, the Group operates India’s busiest airport, the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, where it has built a brand new integrated terminal T3. It is the biggest terminal in India and one of the largest in the world.

- The Group has 15 power generation assets of which 8 are operational and 7 are under various stages of development.

- We require only from Duty Free business/Airport commercial/Leading global retail brands or Travel Retail sector (India or abroad).

Job Title : AVP / Vice President - Commercial & Business Development ( Duty Free businesses )

Location of Posting: Delhi

Qualification : MBA or equivalent

Experience

- Overall 18+ years’ experience working in various positions of Duty Free business/Airport commercial/Leading global retail brands or Travel Retail sector (India or abroad) and in the last 5 years in a leadership role in Duty Free or Travel Retail company.

Scope of the Position

Overall business development responsibility for all Duty-Free business of GMR airports; including:

- Responsibility of driving overall Delhi Duty-Free performance

- Direct P&L as well growth responsibility of Hyderabad Duty-Free

- Develop the business plan including possible opportunities, partnerships and alliances for future growth of Duty Free business of GMR airports

- Drive overall process standardization and leverage synergy including:

- Streamlining the key processes like procurement, account and brand management, vendor management and MIS across different stores

- Develop a centralized procurement strategy and process

- Develop process to leverage other synergies to enhance operational efficiencies.

- Responsible for overall marketing, branding – including ATL / BTL Marketing, Branding, Promotion, Visual Merchandise etc.

- Responsible for defining, assessing and optimizing the category mix and brand matrix at different stores

- Drive Human capital management with a focus on:

- Talent management – identifying, recruiting and retaining the best talent

- Training and development of team

- Drive key relationships at the local level and manage regulatory & statutory aspects

Principal Accountabilities:

- Overall P&L responsibility for all stores

- Business development for new stores, new airports

- Forging and managing partnerships and alliances

- Stakeholder management – with all brands, vendors, regulatory / statutory authorities, airport operators

- Sales, Marketing, Branding across GMR Duty Free businesses.

Skills Required

- Entrepreneurial skills, strong business acumen and analytical capability

- Deep understanding of duty free and travel retail industry

- Understanding of consumer spending behavior in different part of the world

- Strong industry network across different brands, travel retail operators, airports and airlines

- Business development and marketing experience

- Team management and leadership abilities

- Experience of working in multiple geographies across the world
