Key Purpose : As a key member of the liability underwriting team, this role is accountable to determine if its profitable for the insurance company & and to establish the terms of coverage, should have following traits.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Underwriting of Liability proposals for various products and clients.

- Business development: Customer interaction for deal closures, Techno- marketing, Product Presentations etc.

- Channel Management: interface between Brokers and Customers - training and development of various Liability products

- Coordination with other depts.: such as reinsurance, product specialists and accounts.

- Policy administration and documentation.

- Contribute in price review exercise at regular intervals through market benchmarking ; identifying the areas for correction

- Liaison with all stakeholders (Sales, IT, Operations, Legal & Compliance) for all Underwriting matters.

- Ensure 100% compliance with all regulatory & product approval related aspects.

-Work with IT and Operations staff to ensure that business requirements are met and that customers are provided with a high level of service.

Qualification and competencies :

- B.E. / B Tech / MBA/PG

- 8-10 Years of experience in Underwriting with General Insurance firm

- Hands on experience with analytical tools and statistical packages

- Additional Insurance diploma or certification will be preferred

- Excellent comprehension and communication skills

- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

- Negotiation Skills- Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.

- Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and risks attached along with the benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.

- Time Management - Managing one and own time and the time of others and the ability to work tight deadlines.

- Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
