AVP - Trade Operations - Bank Captive

Our client is a leading MNC Banking Captive operations unit.

AVP-Trade Operations, Reporting into Sr.VP (Head of Global Trade & Treasury)

Responsible for day-to-day BAU activities which include processing of more than one thousand trade transactions every day of export & import collections, Letter of Credit issuance, advising and confirmation, Bank Guarantees, Trade Credits, ECB’s, Supply Chain Financing, etc. Ensure adherence to SLA’s, compliance to internal, regional and local regulatory guidelines, compliance to provisions of UCP 600, ISBP, etc.

- Lead a team of over 80 people. Develop training plans to ensure personal development and improve technical & operational skills of sub-ordinate staff. Maintain overall discipline and align the team to achieve objectives of the unit. Analyse monthly volumes and assess impact on staff capacity.

- Functional & process design for laying out procedural guidelines to achieve efficient and smooth running of Trade operations. Study new circulars/notifications from regulatory bodies, assess the operational impact & roll out duly approved revisions in processes wherever necessary.

- Liaison with stake holders. Support Product teams to develop innovative products/feature in existing products and customized solutions. Conduct trade trainings and support relationship in client calls and new business initiatives.

- Manage operational risk and monitor risk mitigation actions for adequacy & effectiveness. Develop & track operational risk & control indicators to ensure zero operational loss.

- Review & track audit observations and recommendations for action & implementation.

- Make systems stronger and robust to reduce manual efforts and increase efficiency. Co-ordinate with technical and customization teams for system enhancements, testing of functionality & change implementation.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Graduate / Post Graduate with close to 15 years of experience in Banking industry, with specific experience in Trade Finance operations for India and International geographies.

- Must be a people manager having handled headcounts of 50 plus headcount units.

- Must have extensive product knowledge across LC, Guarantees, Collections and other trade areas.

- Exposure to Back Office operations of the Banking system is a must

- Good knowledge of ICC, ISBP and Indian Banking industry Guidelines.
