AVP - Tax Advisory & Litigation - Big 4

Tax Advisory & Litigation (primary responsibility):

- Ensure preparation and timely submission of details for audit, assessment, scrutiny, appeals and investigations and independently handle statutory and departmental audits, liaison with tax officers, maintaining control trackers with periodic updates to leadership team

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and case law developments, which may be relevant for planning & compliance

- Undertake in-house research to assess tax implications for operational efficiencies and new business models / products

- Co-ordinate and seek formal opinions / inputs from tax consultants on proposed business

- Act as tax consultant / advisor to various business units / divisions within the company

- Collaborate cross-functionally with other parts of the business including Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, Banking, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology to ensure complete implementation of strategic decisions

- Review tax position for new products / offerings being planned and strike balance between compliance and business

Tax Compliance (backup as and when needed):

- Ensuring timely completion of activities relating to compliance and ensuring adequate checks and balances to control accuracy; Exercise control over ledger balances relating to accounting of indirect taxes and accounting impacts for various adjustments

- Ensuring periodical compiled reporting of deliverables along exceptions reporting

- Review reconciliations shared for statutory and tax audit and provide information as required for preparation of financial statement

- Ensure appropriate implementation strategy for changes to the law; Maintain adequate documentation for formal tax position

- Such other task as may be assigned from time to time
