Role Summary/Purpose:

- The person will be responsible for overall gamut of tax activities for India business as defined and set by the manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Support all processes linked to tax accounting, forecasting / analysis, and reporting including:

a) Accounting for all tax related balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, making entries, and adjustments.

b) Closely monitoring and forecasting tax balance movements and analytics around the same to ensure that tax costs and trends are communicated on a timely manner.

c) Preparation and reporting of data packs on tax accounting and forecasting for HQ on a periodic basis.

- Support monthly, quarterly and annual close from a tax perspective including provisioning, Effective Tax Rate analysis and appropriate remediation, and reporting of the same to HQ and resolving queries

- Supporting stat, tax and US GAAP audits, limited reviews, and RBI audits which will entail preparation of relevant data and working / coordinating with internal and external auditors.

- Work with Finance teams to ensure that appropriate Internal Controls in place, in line with local statutory laws and GAAPs, US GAAP, and critically examine potential issues where financial risks may arise for tax processes.

Coordinate and support all direct and indirect tax filings, assessments and disputes including:

a) Streamlining processes around gathering data / information from stakeholders

b) Coordinating with stakeholders to support data / information gathering.

c) Monitor tax filings to ensure timeliness and completeness

- Streamlining of tax related processes and help team define Standard Operating Procedures

- Support in managing tax vendors including vendor enrollment, onboarding, trainings and payment processes to eliminate risks from a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act perspective.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Chartered Accountant or similar qualification

- At least 4-8 years of work experience within Finance, including controllership/ taxation/FP&A

- Expertise in accounting specifically tax accounting and familiarity / working knowledge of Indian direct and indirect taxes

- Exposure to US tax will be beneficial
