Reportees : Entire Sales & Operation Team Of Survey Business

Coordination With: All Other Vertical Heads And Their Teams - Hr, Administration And F&a

Job Description : Contribution to the organisational objectives

To lead the sales function of the company, in coordination with the Oil and Gas, corporate relations teams.

The responsibilities for the AVP - Survey can be subdivided into the following main areas :

The Team :

- Motivation of staff

- Maintain Team spirit

- Sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and nurturing the employees in the organizational culture/process and work practices

- Responsible and accountable for the team's performance

- Define Job responsibilities for individuals

- Periodic Review of various KPIs to ensure business objectives are met

- Coordinating, following-up and reviewing the implementation of the sales/marketing plans

- Implement sales programs by developing field sales action plans.

- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

- Overseeing a sales team

- Ensure optimum utilization of Organization's resources

Industry :

- Study the developments in the industry in view of overall economic progression

- Recommend Management suitable action plan

- To Plan and conduct geological, geochemical and geophysical field studies and surveys, sample collection and drilling and testing programs used to collect data

- Geological exploration of Greenfield site.

- To liaise with all the Governmental and with those of related to Govt. departments

- To manage execution of project with prevailing industry standards/ quality systems in most efficient, timely and cost effective manner.

- To manage design development / procurement / planning department for respective works such as submission of engineering submittals, procurement of major items, MEP construction program etc.

- To develop a professional team to work under limited supervision

- To lease with Main Contractor for site works coordination.

- To manage Subcontractors for smooth progress of works.

- To attend project progress meeting and take corrective action accordingly.

- To meet Consultant for technical approval and related issues etc.

- To co-ordinate with internal QS/Main Contractors QS for invoicing, payment collection, EI pricing, AVIs etc.

- To manage Project supervision, scheduling, target monitoring with reviewing or progress reports / taking appropriate action to achieve the end result.

- To manage preparation /submission of engineering submittals with regard to MEP services including submission of coordinated services shop drawings and tracking schedules etc.

- To manage Execution, Testing, and Commissioning with preparation of related documents, As-built drawings, O & M manuals.

- To manage Safety related aspects for industrial as well as commercial projects.

- To manage & ensure QA/QC related issues being implemented on the projects.

- Over viewing the preparation of QA/QC documents such as QCIP, BPS/PQR various method statement for installation.

- To manage Consultant and Clients inspection at site for preliminary as well as final handing over of the system.

Customers :

- Analyzing Customers- needs and providing optimum solutions

- Advising customers and answering their questions

- Act as a bridge between the customer and the Principals

- Optimize relationship with customers and Principals

- Ensure maintenance of smooth business relationship with existing client base

Environment and competition :

- Detecting and analyzing information regarding customers and their market, in order to improve knowledge of the environment and to apply it in the form of new or modified products and service.

- Responsible for Competitive analysis, communication strategy, advertisement policy

Technology and applications :

- Update and adapt professional/technical knowledge by attending educational workshops

- Reviewing professional publications

- Establishing personal networks

- Participating in professional societies

- Gaining expertise on functions and advantages of organisation's representative products/services in order to have the ability to integrate this product knowledge in the sales process and position the sales team as specialists.

- Participating and/or deputing staff to product informative sessions

- Continuously increasing own expertise and concentrating on value proposition

Business model, Sales and operating margins

- Develop & implement different sales strategies

- Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing suitable/adequate marketing strategies; by analyzing trends and results.

- Planning sales strategies for the verticals and executing the sales & marketing plan, once it has been discussed and approved.

- Responsible for sales revenue & sales costs

- Analyze present business trend and identify methods of improving profitability of current business/formulate future Business Plans.

Operations :

- The head AVP-Survey will be the direct - line- manager of all the sales staff (own employees and sales partners, if any, etc.).

- AVP-Survey will organize and chair meetings, work out budgets, hold goal settings and performance appraisals.

- First responsive officer on all the HR issues occurs within his team; and he can decide on any intervention of HR, that may be appropriate and required, into the process at any stage.

- Maximizing new business development opportunities

- Representing and/or depute staff for the business conferences, trade fairs and networking events

Administration and Approvals / Delegation of Authority :

- To approve travel requests of sales team

- To approve travel advance

- To approve sales team travel settlements

- To close contracts with clients in agreement with organisation's contractual conditions

- To negotiate terms with principals and/or clients with prior knowledge/update and approval from organisation's Management

- To decide on training's and actions to achieve the product know how

Reporting :

- Work with COO to craft strategic decisions of the Organization.

- Macro level review of MIS reports/information collated for Clients/Principals

- Reporting sales results and market information relevant to the organization

- Expanding organisation's customer base by identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets

Forecasting and projections :

- Forecasting the growth on regular basis (and monthly review towards the executive teams) and providing projections vide quantum-based reports

- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for verticals in against various principals; projecting sales volume and profit for existing and new products.

- Follow-ups on sales proposals and monitoring activities of entire sales team

- Provide monthly precise and up to date sales forecast reports to management

Information and confidentiality / need to know :

- Responsible for Management Report on Sales and maintains confidentiality of it.

Database :

- Keeping the customer database up to date

- To keep the information generated from the sales activities in a structured manner

- To ensure its integrity and to use it for approaching the market in a professional manner

Desirable candidate :

- Having at least 15+ years of experience in the fields of geological or geochemical or geophysical

- Master Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Petroleum studies

- Additionally having Management Degree from the reputed institutions

- Handled teams and multiple projects

- Experience in handling expat teams

- Managed P&L responsibilities
