Sr. Quantitative Developer - AVP

Location : Mumbai

Work Experience : 5-7 years of relevant experience

An opportunity for a talented developer with a proven track record to join a successful team in an established propitiatory desk of a large financial services firm. The firm has a collaborative culture and looks to hire exceptional people to build dynamic trading teams.

You will be responsible for coding and maintaining algorithms that trade financial instruments.

This role will challenge your technical savvy working across all aspects of the algorithms; system level through specific strategy code. There are also significant growth opportunities for an individual with leadership experience who still enjoys delivering the actual solutions as well.

Principal responsibilities :

- Proactively provide creative input in order to develop new and enhance existing trading strategies and infrastructures.

- Identify potential areas for optimization and performance enhancements including suggestions for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of overall code quality.

- Own all aspects of trading strategy code including trading algorithms, Strategy performance, and Infrastructure connectivity.

- Provide realistic estimates for project and software development timelines ensuring accountability.

- Utilize exhaustive testing and debugging skills as part of the development process.

- Stay current on industry development and trends to maintain ongoing business awareness and a competitive edge.

- Work closely with traders and quantitative analysts to understand various trading strategy to ensure the algorithm is built to meet the requirement

- Work closely with the support staff to ensure the successful system operation and be the first point of contact for technical troubleshooting from business side.

Key skills for the role :

- Excellent academic record in a subject with a strong computational emphasis (e.g. computer science, engineering, physics, etc.); BS/BA required; PhD/MSc is well respected.

- Strong coding experience in C/ C++ and SQL required

- Enjoys writing efficient and clear code.

- Thinking about large scale design as well as making the precise implementation specifics.

- Likes to get involved in performance and machine specifics when optimizing code speed.

- Experience with Linux, databases and distributed systems required.

- Ability to debug applications

- Ability to also code in Python, Java, MATLAB and/or other languages a plus.

- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and work well in a cross-disciplinary team.
