COMPANY : INDIA'S LARGEST HEALTHCARE E-COMMERCE
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the engineering function for all of our consumer facing products
- Work closely with CTO in defining the engineering strategy
- Lead a team of engineering managers
- Oversee all software development activity - manage tasks, milestones, and dependencies across multiple concurrent projects
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (product management, sales, marketing, support, finance, etc) to improve product capabilities and services.
- Provide technology leadership and create a collaborative working environment
- Ensure implementation of formal best practices and standards for software development
- Play an active role in hiring, training, mentoring, and motivating a world-class engineering talent pool
- Ensure that engineering processes are continuously followed and improved upon
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and negotiate the best possible outcomes for the organization
DESIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:
- 12+ years of experience in building, managing, and leading a high-performance software development team of 20+ engineers
- Deep experience in software development with specializations in Internet and mobile technologies
- Excellent planning and estimation skills
- Thorough understanding of SDLC and modern software engineering practices like Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
- A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects and bringing in and growing engineering talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
- Highly analytical with the ability to think first principles. Has excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on business needs.
