Job Description:

Position Summary:

As the Senior AVP of Accounts Receivables, you will oversee all aspects of the accounts receivables function within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize the accounts receivables process to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, minimize bad debt exposure, and enhance cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize the accounts receivables process and improve collection efficiency.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of accounts receivables operations.

Team Leadership:

- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounts receivables team, including managers and staff, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the accounts receivables department.

Performance Management:

- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the performance of the accounts receivables function.

- Monitor performance against targets, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve departmental goals.

Client Relationships:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal departments to facilitate the timely resolution of billing disputes, payment issues, and other accounts receivables-related matters.

- Serve as a point of escalation for complex client inquiries and issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Financial Analysis:

- Conduct regular analysis of accounts receivables aging, cash flow projections, and bad debt reserves to assess the financial health of the organization.

- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning efforts.

Compliance and Risk Management:

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies governing accounts receivables management.

- Identify and mitigate risks associated with accounts receivables operations, including credit risk, fraud, and compliance breaches.

Technology and Innovation:

- Stay abreast of advancements in accounts receivables technology and identify opportunities to leverage automation, data analytics, and other tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

- Lead initiatives to implement new systems or software solutions to support the accounts receivables function and improve overall performance.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

- Proven experience (X years) in a senior leadership role overseeing accounts receivables operations within a large organization.

- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated expertise in accounts receivables management, credit risk assessment, and cash flow optimization.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and build relationships across all levels of the organization.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute initiatives to drive process improvements and achieve business objectives.

- Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting tools, and accounts receivables software platforms.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to accounts receivables management.
