AVP - Secondary Market Research - Metals/Mining & Steel

Position: AVP- Secondary Market Research with leading ITES MNC

Location: Bangalore

Qualifications: A bachelor degree (preferably in metallurgy, minerals-related, engineering or a natural science). A post-graduate degree/qualification in business, such as business (MBA), economics or equivalent.

Experience: 10 years

Mandatory Skill Sets: Market Research in broad minerals/metals industry, with a preference to the steel industry.

Working experience in a team of research professionals.

- From a business/secondary research perspective this positions primary focus will be on steel, with a strong secondary focus on mining. Individual would need to demonstrate awareness in broad minerals/metals industry, with a preference to the steel industry.

- The candidate should be able to take an issue and turn it into a researchable question; able to scope the research effort and cost it accurately; able to use most (but not necessarily all) research techniques such as secondary database searching, company analysis, market analysis, strategic analysis frameworks, interview-based research and financial analysis.

- The individual must have a sound knowledge of industry sources and be able to critique them.

- Knowledge of the steel and minerals industry: the global markets; supply chain and manufacturing; the players; the critical metrics for evaluating company performance; cost drivers; the way companies work behind the scenes (back office functions and processes, technologies).

- You must be comfortable with industry-speak and be able to make a favorable impression with peers and executives in the industry.

- The positons primary research focus will be on steel, with a strong secondary focus on mining.

10+ years business research experience, preferably in a consulting environment for Metals/ Mining & Steel Industry
