- Global Analytics Centre provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, reporting and data management. It forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.

- There are primarily four job families in GAC: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Analytic Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Information Management job family within the Analytics function supporting various risk systems activities.

- This role is in Analytics Information Management area within Risk Data & Portfolio Insights team which is one of the key functional areas within Retail Risk Management. This (AIM) group is a centralized function that facilitates availability of company wide data for BASEL and Non-BASEL reporting and modeling purposes. It serves as an interface between Information technology team and end users.

- The role is expected to manage projects/BAU within AIM function for HBEU Basel/IFRS9 Model Deployment as an individual contributor. Extend and optimize SAS code to read various data files for data quality audits & Scorecard deployment. Manage in-house Reporting Tools/Dashboards

- The incumbent is required to work closely with HBEU Regional Projects team helping establish and implement best practices in the AIM function area

- The incumbent is required to lead and provide support for large and/or complex projects requiring advanced analytical, quantitative and technical skills. Core functions include data validations, BASEL & IFRS9 model deployment, audits, process improvement, system documentation, Data quality audits across the enterprise, providing consulting and guidance and delivering comprehensive risk management platforms to support risk management intelligence and analytics. Define, develop and implement various processes to improve automation and reduce risk.

- Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the brand. Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

- Per Group policies & operating procedures, maintain & upgrade the Group compliant Risk Systems across countries

- Conduct complex research projects related to systems design, data collection, and analysis, summary of findings, recommendations and presentation of results

The role holder will be expected to go to the heart of the business problem under consideration, and provide a solution. The nature of work will require the role holder to apply business knowledge & intuition to make best case recommendations

The role holder shall also be expected to people manage and guide the team members, and help them build up a strong business understanding.

The role holder shall be expected to understand key areas of expertise within GAC that are relevant to his/her function and proactively drive adoption of best practices. The role holder shall also be expected to create replicable solutions from analytical output of their team.

Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

The establishment of the Global Resourcing business is a major Group Strategic initiative which seeks to achieve cost savings, service improvements and competitive advantage through the use of the high skill / low cost base available in Asian countries.

Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)

To abide by the Group Compliance Policy by containing compliance risk in conjunction with the relevant Compliance Departments. The term compliance embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes which is applicable to the business.

To continually re-assess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures, and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.

Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)

The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term - compliance- embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.

This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

- Depending on the portfolio the team supports, the incumbent would deal with analysis and strategies affecting portfolios of varying size and volume. (role and grade specific)

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)

4 year Bachelor's or Master's degree from reputed University with concentration on Technology, Systems, IM or engineering.

Strong analytical skills with 8+ years of proven business analysis experience or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.

Well conversant with Base SAS, SAS Data Step and SAS Macros. Knowledge of Credit/Risk analytics and BASEL rules/guidelines is a plus

Must have a clear understanding of Advanced Data processing concepts using SAS

Able to handle large SAS datasets efficiently. Good knowledge of Risk Systems

Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible technical solution framework.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, inter-personal and communication skills. Previous people management experience is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas

Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success
