AVP Retail Analytics

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Grow and manage the analytics teams that provide analytic support to various retail clients through analytical, statistical and optimization programming languages and toolkits. Oversee execution and delivery of key project milestones.

- Accountable for clear requirements documents, analysis/development plans, project consulting and troubleshooting, on time delivery of projects, timely communication with client project sponsors/owners, and quality of project deliverables.

- Project management tasks include (but not limited to): defining project scope, assisting with requirements collection, providing analysis/development plans, working closely with client teams during execution of project, and ensuring on-time delivery of and quality of projects.

- Ensure all projects are fully documented (objective, requirements, analysis plan, technical design, results, support, training, etc.).

- Establish and maintain clear communication between all key stakeholders on client’s team and Organization analytics delivery teams regarding project scope, timelines, issue resolution, and deliverables. Develop a regular communication rhythm with all key clients to share updates and seek feedback.

- Manage the progress and prioritization of multiple projects for multiple team members in a dynamic, fast-moving environment in support of diverse needs including resource estimation and planning.

- Manage the complete talent lifecycle including acquisition, retention and development through training, coaching, and regular feedback. Support Organization’s talent objectives through timely appraisals, salary revision recommendations, career management and succession planning.

- Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers in client’s organization to increase account penetration

- Assist in business development and growth by working with business partners and clients in developing and implementing new analytical methodologies with a targeted result of increasing revenue

Specific competences (Essential)

- Well versed in analytic methodologies including experience with statistical software tools such as SAS, Stata, or SPSS or operations research tools like XPRESS, CPLEX

- Demonstrated experience running large engagements in the field of high end analytics

- Excellent communication skills in order to translate client needs into a mathematical/data analysis approach and translate analysis results back to client teams. Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings that focus on the critical issues and provide actionable opportunities.

- Proven project management successes, including balancing multiple projects and differing project priorities.

- Proven capability to lead team members, including personal development, work direction, and creating a positive team environment.

- Client Management skillsFocus of the Function:

Manage and deliver analytics & optimization sciences projects for retail companies

- Currently expertise is mostly in CPG domain, hence adding talent with retail exposure will help us deliver on retailer specific problems.

- The role is also critical in terms of client engagement and management.

How this role is unique from others: The role is focussed on Retail and not CPG and will help Organization Analytics extend its solutions offerings beyond current CPG focussed ones.
