AVP - Quantitative Suitability for a renowned investment firm

- The purpose of this role is to support and assist with developing and maintaining the suitability framework that supports all products and services (advisory, discretionary and execution only; banking, credit and insurance) offered by HSBC across its Wealth and Personal Banking client segments. The role is a part of the Investment and Wealth Solutions (IWS) team.

- This role primarily focusses on:

- Supporting the implementation of the suitability framework/ policies/ FIMs/ procedures across all WPB Markets;

- Supporting suitability work streams related to the continued implementation of Aladdin (WPB's strategic framework) & the Strategic Financial Planning tool (SFP)

- Acting as an SME for GPB & Wealth Propositions and Platforms and manage changes with internal and external stakeholders;

- Develop and deliver relevant training to client facing staff on sales suitability-related policies and best practise;

- Provide key inputs into WPB's Product/Portfolio Risk framework;

- Provide key inputs into WPB's Client Risk Profiling frameworks and providing best practice controls for "other" client suitability items (e.g. affordability, emergency fund, Knowledge & Experience etc);

- Developing suitability related global documents in collaboration with GPB&W Models team;

- Working with key stakeholders across the Three Lines of Defence to ensure that the suitability framework remains up to date and remains compliant with regulatory requirements at the global level and at the local level working with local suitability leads; and

- Developing and monitoring effective risk-based enterprise management/ key risk indicators to provide oversight of the effectiveness of the suitability framework across WPB.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Experience:

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent. (E)

- Demonstrated ability to work with the Wealth Management or Private Banking business in reaching decisions and solutions. (P)

- Experience in client or product suitability roles is advantageous and understanding their unique risks when compared to other areas. (P)

- Proven record of creating and collating data and KRIs in a format which enables management to make informed decisions (P)

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of product and client suitability processes, procedures and models (E)

- Ability to work across all levels of the organisation to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implication of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level. (P)

- Wide knowledge of key regulations affecting Private Banking business is advantageous. (P)

Skills

- Practical experience working alongside global product/business management teams (P)

- Strict deadline management and project management skills (E)

- Ability to work independently and manage business as usual tasks while also progressing elements of various projects (E)

- Effective presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, communication and analytical skills. (E)

- Recognised strong organisational skills. (E)

- Understanding of GPB&W and HSBC Group Strategy (P)
