Team

The team is part of the Divisional Control Office. In an ever-changing financial landscape within a global business model, the role of the Divisional Control Office has never been more important. A strong risk management culture helps to reinforce MNC bank resilience. The function identifies, aggregates, manages and mitigates risk across the core activities of operational risk management, supporting the MNC bank strategies whilst protecting the Bank. The team works with cross-functional and global teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally across the bank.

Role Description/Key Responsibilities: (not limited to)

- Actively drive the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) process to ensure that the risk profile for IPB Americas remains accurate and up-to-date

- Analyze monthly Contextual Data (including findings, internal and external loss data, metrics, and remediation progress) to determine if updates are required to the risk profile

- Create and maintain an RCA Summary Report that includes key themes and risk drivers, new and emerging risks, and remediation planning

- Coordinate a quarterly RCA workshop with Business, Risk Type Controllers and Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) to review and challenge RCA Summary Report

- Ensure NFRM, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime, and Legal are regularly involved throughout the RCA process, with formal engagement in the quarterly RCA workshop session

- Create new findings based on new control gaps or remediation requirements determined in the RCA process

- Coordinate regular Scenario discussions with the Business and Risk Type Controllers and ensure that new or emerging risks are reflected in the RCA for the business

- Evaluate Scenario Analysis observations and, if warranted, record any findings in the Global Findings Management System

- Contribute to the development and build know-how within the team

- Developing effective partnerships with DCO, COO colleagues & Infrastructure partners

Skills and Qualifications: Requirement

Education & Experience:

- Knowledge of non-financial risks and controls

- Proven experience of working with controls processes

- Relevant experience in the Retail Banking / Private Banking sector or several years of experience in financial services or consultancy (with Private Banking experience preferred but not essential)

- Experience working on small to medium scale projects at least within a global environment

Competencies:

- Very strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs; e.g. Excel , Word and PowerPoint

- Ability to work in pressurised situations

- Strong work ethic, commitment to excel and proven capacity to work effectively with minimum supervision

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship skills

- Ability to influence

- Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken skills)
