Job Title: MIS Manager

Functional Title: Asst Vice President

Division: Market Risk Management

Location: Mumbai

The primary objective of MRM is to ensure that Business units of the Bank optimize the risk-reward relationship and ensure DB is not exposed to unacceptable losses. This objective drives all of the activities conducted within MRM and we work closely with risk takers, risk managers and Control and Support groups in the process to ensure these objectives are met efficiently.

The activities of the department are not directed purely at the "risk" side of the equation, but rather at risk, reward and capital. Thus, the focus is not on restricting people from taking risk, but also encouraging risk to be taken where it is most optimal given the rewards and capital consumption.

The Global MIS currently serves Market Risk Process team to produce operational, coordination and strategic MI to enable front-line staff, team leads/managers and senior management within MRM (MRM ExCo), Risk COO (OCRO) and Bank's top management (CB&S ExcO, MB, CaR, RK) and bank-wide programmes for aggregating and reporting Key Risk Metrics (KRMs) and Key Risk Reports (KRR) e.g. RDA&RR.

Responsibilities will include:

- Understand Global Head of MRM, Head of Traded Market Risk, Asset Class Risk Heads MI requirements

- Support Global Head of MRP, MRA, MRD data requirements

- Review and manage delivery from MIS teams in MRP-Bangalore

- Co-ordinate and work along with MRP teams from MRP-London, MRP-NY, MRP-Singapore & MRP India

- Work well with other teams

- Own commentaries for all risk-production metrics KPIs (specifically Reds, Ambers)

- Preparation of senior management meeting presentations

- Manage regional, business line MIS requirements

- Extract - actionable intelligence- from data

- Ensure data is analysed archived, and reported effectively to all stakeholders

- Own the following MIS reports;

BCBS239

PCC-MIS, MRPOC, HV-

- Note: HV team will continue to work independently to produce quarterly packs

- Coordinate requirements, development, testing and implementation of risk-production metrics

- Support automation initiatives

Strategic Programme Support:

- This role will play an integral role in defining and delivering MIS role within MRM

- Work with stakeholders across the bank to understand front-to-back information flow in order to define KRMs and KRR

- Work with IT partners to develop applications that meet the needs of MRM from a MI analytics and remediation's actions perspective

- To produce reports and presentations for RDA&RR reporting

- To provide commentary for RDA&RR KPI scores (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

- To deliver changes to KPIs (MRM measurement points)

- To provide trends, supporting data and make recommendations for changes during recalibrations cycles for all KPIs

Communication and Escalation:

- Develop mechanisms to track and manage MRM MIS deliverables

- Establish a culture of pro-active completion of activities to minimize situations where the department misses key target delivery dates of KPI reports

- Track and communicate upcoming deliverable

- Provide clear and effective instructions that assist Mumbai, Bangalore, London, NY and Singapore teams in completing their respective tasks

Liaison with Key Partners:

- Interface with MRIT, MRP, MRA, MRD and other teams on MI deliverables

You will have:

- Risk SME knowledge or familiarity

- A proven track record of hands-on MIS delivery

- Superior MS-Office especially MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint skills

- Exceptional technical skills and the ability to apply these to a business

- The ability to multitask and prioritise whilst being responsive to ad-hoc requests

- Confidence, drive and enthusiasm

- High professional and ethical standards

- A 'can-do' attitude and a delivery focus

You will be:

- A strategic and analytical thinker

- Highly professional and ethical

- A strong team worker with an ability to build strong business and team relationships

- Able to respond to changing priorities and work to urgent demands

- Proficient in the English language, both written and oral

Preferred but not essential:

- MBA (specialism in Finance)/MS-Finance or similar economics qualification

- Project management and delivery skills e.g. Requirements, testing and planning

- Programming and technical familiarity e.g. Databases, Procedures and optimization
