Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Legal Head is responsible for providing legal guidance and support to ensure that the Brand Estate activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves overseeing legal transactions, managing contracts, mitigating risks, and collaborating with various departments to facilitate smooth and lawful brand estate operations with the objective of arriving at a workable transaction structure and ensuring smooth closure for the transactions.

Legal Compliance & Contract Management:

Staying abreast of Local, State and National real estate laws and regulations in India and ensuring that the Brand Estate activities comply with legal requirements. To also develop and implement compliance strategies to mitigate legal risk and provide legal opinions and recommendations based on due diligence findings. Review and negotiate the standard agreements, ensure compliance, and customize the agreements for each Brand Estate client, in order to ensure timely and hassle-free closure of deals.

Coordinate with Secretarial and Legal department in connection with matters where litigation is to be initiated against the clients, in order to facilitate smooth flow of instituting litigation and related issues.

Coordination across teams :

Guide and clarify to Business Development team members on legal issues related to the transactions, and procedures involved in relation thereto in order to facilitate deal closure

Knowledge/ Skills required :

- Proven experience in real estate law with a focus on Indian property regulations.

- Excellent understanding of Indian real estate laws, contracts, and property rights.

- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Fair understanding of financial aspects of the transaction

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :

A) At least 13 years of legal experience with exposure in capital market, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, corporate and regulatory compliances and independent negotiations.

B) Should have had a minimum of 8-10 years of team leadership in the previous roles

C) Apart from relevant years of experience, the proposed candidate should have negotiated land deals and structured several transactions & documents independently with NBFCs and PE Funds

The proposed candidate should also have NCLT case handling experience
